Exporting dialogue written in Chat Mapper?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I'm currently working on a narrative-driven game in CF 2.5. In the past I've used Chat Mapper for dialogue etc. and I know it can be exported into Unity - however I don't know if I'm able to export dialogue written in Chat Mapper into Clickteam. I can't see anywhere a definitive yes or no, was hoping someone could help!

  • Looking at the program's website, yes it looks like it's possible. The possible export options from Chat Mapper and the possible extensions you can use to open them:

    RTF = Rich Edit object
    JSON = JSON object (free on the clickstore Please login to see this link.)
    XML/XLSX = Array object / Dynamic Array object / Datagrid object

    Use this program Please login to see this link. to convert XML/XLSX to Fusion's standard array (.arr) files.

    Custom A* Pathfinding in MMF2: Please login to see this link.
    Random Tile World Generation: Please login to see this link.

  • There's no native support but as Sumo states you could write code to process the files (which may be a project in itself)

    I made an example of a custom NPC scripting engine here: Please login to see this link.

    I doubt its anywhere near the level of Chat mapper. But it is easily expanded on and requires no license.
