targeting 1 instance of an active object using a local value in the expression editor

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I'm trying to get a local value from one of nine instances of an active on screen, through the expression editor. I've created an active object with a behavior that builds a text panel using nine slice slices, with the first object having xy position and scale setting for the final panel. If I reposition the first object I need to pass the values through to the child objects. Is there a way to get value3 from (objectA with value1=0) through the expression editor?
I know I can do this with global values, but the object will be more useful if it's self contained.
    Thanks John

  • I used the loop index to create id's so that I could place the slices consistently. Turn's out it works if I remove the positioning from the fast loop and place them in the standard sequence instead.
However I still wonder whether getting a value from a particular instance defined with another value is possible through the expression editor?
I've attached the mfa if anyone is interested, run the frame and press s to generate the panel, then press 1,2 or 3 keys to reposition it.
