Super Bombardier - Bullet Hell Shmup

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I wanted to share my latest project Super Bombardier it's essentially 1943 mixed with a Japanese bullet hell game.

    I have just completed level 1 and so just working on new enemy types and upgrades.

  • Just a little progress report:

    Added damage effects, when you get hit black smoke flies out the back on your plane, the more you get hit the more smoke until on your 4th hit when you explode, also given a few seconds of invulnerability.
    Power ups have been added which appear when some enemies are destroyed.
    Currently I have 5 bullet upgrades but want to add more.

    New explosions added for the bomb special.

    would be great to hear your thoughts so far.

  • Wow a demo Exe please even if it's just a beta, I love the concept. I just love 1943 :)

    Me too I've been playing it on Mame through my Raspberry PI 3, I have uploaded it to Gamejolt however it is very early on so its pretty bare bones right now.

  • Not enough for any more pics just yet but wanted to give a quick update.

    Done some work on the smoke to make it react better, it now disappears quicker and rotates which looks a bit more natural.
    Scores are now in too, you score for every bullet that hits an enemy instead of when each enemy is destroyed.

    That's it at the moment but will be updating the version on Gamejolt soon.

  • Update:

    I didn't want to put up small updates as wanted to have something substantial to show.

    In the next release it will have 10 upgrade levels for bullets, new collectables, 2nd level with boss, I hope to have the update on Gamejolt by the weekend at the latest.

  • The HUD looks cool and really suits your graphics style. Does it show only at certain time ? If it is always visible, just a thought - maybe you could have it slide back when a plane overlaps it so that it wont get in the way of the action.

    Thanks Aenever, it is currently always on the screen I could just change the transparency for the when a bullet or enemy is touching it. Have you played the latest version yet on Gamejolt?

  • 1943 in bullet hell mode :D ? Tried it out, I think I didnt get far, but it was nice. Tho I am not used to auto-firing, I m bit old gamer and I had to mash or hold button to shoot .D So I really missed the feel, but it didnt change gameplay in anyway. I like how your plane smoked when its dmged.

    Thanks Rebel, it has been the source of great debate to have auto shoot or not, I may add manual shooting as an option.

    The game rocks, I love when you turn into a person and keep shooting lol. The updates make it way more playable. Great work :)

    Thanks Aenever the sky dive element is my fave part too, especially happy with the particle blood effects if you get shot.

    Just a small update for you.

    I have been working on making the character a bit more anime style and also adding some fan service ;)

    Its very much work in progress but this the non detailed sketch of one of the frames of the animation that is triggered when you get shot

  • Lol that portait, its a bit too much imo :D. But if thats your decision, then why not.

    Yup but you can't have an anime character that doesn't show a little off lol.

    Got a nice juicy update today, I have a 3rd level coming together nicely, the portrait is finished for our unnamed anime lady too and I have created a super shiny water effect which I am super happy with and just had to share.

    PS - I have tried to remove the audio from the video so you don't have to listen to Stella on the tv lol.
