The Reactor - August 2017

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Could you please elaborate on the "Professional top tier support channel available" part of the Professional tier? Is this the same, or in addition to, the Pro features in the Clickfusion Academy ("private VIP forums", "priority support via Skype")? And how would this support channel typically work? For example, would it involve one-on-one tutoring/problem solving sessions with a staff member?

  • This is in addition., It means Pro Tier supporters will not only have Academy access for help, but also a direct line to Clickteam to look at issues and help resolve them. Hope that makes sense.

  • So how does this work?
If I'm currently using Fusion and I need help I would have to sign up to get this help, assuming I can't get it in the forums? And if I have to sign up then for how long? 1 Month and then I can get what I need and cancel thereafter? But what happens if nobody is available to help me in the time-frame I'm signed up for?
    Is there a minimum commitment?

Because I sometimes use Fusion, but I don't use Fusion all of the time ...

You are entitled to the benefits for the level you choose for the month proceeding your first contribution. If you signed up today for instance. You will start having access to your tier's benefits on Sept 1st. That is when Patreon process contributions. You continue your contributions for as long or short as you like. its our Job to continue giving you good reasons to stay a member of the Reactor.

When it comes to assistance requests, as is available in the higher tiers. If for instance you requested help on a issue on Sept 28th, We would do everything in our power to resolve it and help you with in a 1 to 2 days. BUT if for some reason we can't get to it till the first of the next month due to alot of requests in front of you, your request was made during your last contribution period and you would still receive help!

I hope this answers the questions and we hope to see you in The Reactor!

  • I think decisions like this do not help popularize the tool

Dividing users into groups, dividing the community

A group in the Forum, another group in Discord, another group in Patreon... etc

I hope that Clickteam continues to give good support in the forum, which should be the main center, and the most important, open to all users

Because it is the entrance to new users and must give a good support and contain good material to convince new users

  • I also don't think the move to Patreon is a good one either. Patreon excludes a lot of countries from becoming members or receiving funds through them – as does Kickstarter, as does Google Play Store – yet they want our money, we can give, we just can’t receive. I’m not really okay with that.

I think they would do better to run this kind of service through Clickstore, using Paypal or similar services rather than going to Patreon and make it more flexible – the way these services work through other stores is that they give you a global discount on all products and additional freebies that non-members don’t get. Some stores allow vendors to opt-out of these discounts - other stores make it a condition of selling in their store. As an example, tier one could give you 10% off all products and 1 hour technical support or 1 support query, tier 2 gives you 15% off all products and 2 hours technical support or 2 support queries etc.

However, I did find that unless you were buying a lot of stuff at the stores, the discounts didn’t add up to the subscription fees and Clickstore hasn’t got that much stuff in its store. Freebies are generally hit and miss - some will love it, some will have no use for them.

It’s a difficult situation - the business person in me thinks that Fusion Academy and the Reactor are great business tools and something that would be good for Clickteam in the long run – it gives them stability and the customers reassurance that they're stable, however, the customer in me … is looking around ...

  • The Reactor completed its first stream yesterday and we had a blast. We discussed how to build a simple RPG. We worked on map roaming, random battles and added a "Fire Spell" to our engine. You can check it out here,

I will be posting the source we created for Patreons later in the day. For those that are now Patreon contributors we would love to hear how we can make The Reactor better for you. We will continue Streams weekly on Fridays.
