Can Firefly 3d world use isometric grid coordinates?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • My running project uses 2d isometric world (employing Isometric Grid extensions). I consider buying FIrefly and reworking the game to be in 3D, well rather an experiment, but my main concerns are:

    1) Can Firefly world coordinates be somehow tied to isometric grid coordinates? I doubt it as that is based on 2D coordinates on the frame, so I would assume that rotating would not be possible.

    2)What is world size limit?

  • 1 - yes - firefly can use your current 2d co-ordinates (transposing) them into 3d

2 - no real limit as such but around 21million in any direction is ok after that float values would start to get lost - creating a shaking effect.

  • I think that the addition of Realtime Shadows would be a very important feature!

realtime shadows are already in - they just need a bugfix.

a ton of functionality needed, another question can i use irrlicht api to create extension

thanks for that detailed list, shows us exactly which way we should be headed.

you can certainly submit some irrlicht based code - while we do use irrlicht its highly modified - so your update will need to be reworked assuming it improves firefly and can be used in fusion.
