It's time to good bye

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hello my big friends,

After around 6 years and saying goodbye...
Has been a long journey with you my friends. Now, I need to expand my professional capables.

unfortunately I see Fusion getting old and getting behind the competition. I have my project called VALIANT SAGA and I'm porting it now to Unreal 4.
I can't stay with Fusion having a lot of workarounds to keep performance for a simples 2d 16bit game running in a 320x180 application at 30fps.

There many reasons to go to Unreal 4, but the main reasons are:

    - I want a HD vectorized art to use on chats and so on, but my game are at 320x180. It's simply impossible to reach this in Fusion. In Unreal it's so simple because you don't set the application resolution direct to the project.
    - I want my game running in a multiple platforms like PS4, XBOX, MAC, LINUX, IOS, ANDROID and SWITCH. But in Fusion I'm getting it only on PC (Android can't get 10fps =/).
    - A lot of things it's soooooo easily to do using Unreal 4 and Blueprint.

Well, I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THE COMMUNITY AND CLICKTEAM STAFF. It's such a amazing tool and I loved every second using the software.

Thanks Yves, François, Anders, Jeff, Chris, Danny, FERNANDO VIVOLO (SPECIAL THANK YOU), DaveC, Marvin, DistantJ...

  • Hey PB,

Such a shame to see you go man! You've been around a long time now and I've seen your developments come to life, in a beautiful fashion!

I won't use this post to try and justify anything. I don't think it should be a "goodbye" but more of a "see you around" kinda thread. I will keep my eye on your developments and I wish Valiant Saga ALL the luck in the world for both development and release, and I hope you do really well with it too.

Of course I am going to say "Come back and try Fusion 3" which I think you will anyway, which is why I don't think it's a permanent goodbye, I hope not. Fusion 3 is just around the corner, whether you use it for Valiant Saga or not, future projects could certainly be entertained.

It's been good having you on the community! A helpful hand and we've had some good discussions in the past.

I wish you the best of luck for the future and see you around ;D

  • Valiant Saga looks awesome. Just out of curiosity - Why did you decide to port it over to a big 3d game engine such as Unreal though.
Godot has blueprints too and a dedicated 2d game engine. It will probably give you a smaller footprint than unreal

In any case hope you come back and try fusion 3 when its out. I am sure that clickteam will meet and surpass your requirements one day

  • HEEEEY Danny my friend. Glad to see you replying here. 100% I will try Fusion 3, and you are right, I think its more a "see you around" instead of a "goodbye".

I just love your work for Clickteam and I think you are a amazing professional.

Hey friend. I think it's more than some points that I aim to my project (like using ambient light like Dead Cells, etc) but it's a wish that come with me from 3-4 years. I had a dream to learn Unreal Engine.
I'm a UX Designer so I can't code XD C#, C++.....so I found Blueprint Script the best option to me <3.
This is the first time I read about Godot, I really did not know about it XD. But I think that mastering a AAA engine like a Unreal it's a good option. I have some 3d projects in my mind to the future.

Best regards and sorry to my bad english

Hi, your english it ok my friend. :)
I used to do work for Unreal too and know what you mean.
If you like Unreal's blueprints, you might find this interesting:

Godot's visual scripting approach is very similar to Unreal's blueprint system, but for 3d games I must admit that Unreal is the king atm. All other engines are playing catch up.
Godot3 recently got a massive upgrade to the 3d engine and has support for pbr shaders, but in terms of tools for 3d games- it has a long way to go
