Fusion3 & 2.5 Console Conversion Service

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Excellent news Chris and congratulations to Team Developer Clickteam.

If the service is not super expensive I find it up to better option than us being doing it on our own. We can focus on finishing our games and using the CT service. I think it's a genius...

Just out of curiosity, the smallest game that can cost?, I say a small production, a platform of 5 levels for example.

Quotations are available for a project after a NDA is executed. Each project is completely different and so we are refraining from ball parking figures of any kind. Note In some cases (porting to Nintendo Switch for example) you will need to have obtained agreements from the target console platform. As such it is best for us to provide clear and concise information to each individual project owner.

  • So let me get this right.... The conversion service is for Fusion 2.5 users who wish to convert to consoles but Fusion 3 will simply allow you to export to whichever console you like without needing to pay for any 'service'?

  • Yeah I thought we were getting a converter tool as well as the option for this service, unless something changed. That said I'm likely to manually port my own work to Fusion 3 when the time comes. This service only really makes sense if you've done a lot of work already and don't want to loose anything in the transition to the new engine. For someone like myself who is going to be building it all in Fusion 3 I probably won't need the service. Though the idea of hiring some porting QAs sounds pretty cool I must say, having worked in that field it is a very smart business decision for CT to move into.

  • Edel, We are providing a service which takes your Fusion 2.5 project and converts to usable code for each of the major consoles. We achieve this in part with Fusion3 technology we have been working on all this time.

Perfect Simon, I will have it pending, again I congratulate you for this service.

On the other hand I see that the import tool from F 2.5 to F3 should be at a good level so I imagine that porting our games to F3 is going to be a reality and the migration will be less traumatic for developers.

  • I edited my last post and the questions didn't get read.. so I'll just paste them back here:

    1) Will this service be offered indefinitely (at least as far as you can see?) or will it be finished when Fusion 3 comes along?

    2) If you port to for instance Switch, how much additional work to port to PS4/Xbone as well?

  • @Please login to see this link. the import tool is real and will do a lot of the work, yes. There will still be things it cannot bring across and the report it will generate will allow you to either fix/replace in F25 and then re-import, or just fix the issue in F3. How you handle this will depend on how complex the code around the plugin/feature which failed to inport is, I suspect.

@Please login to see this link. I suppose the best answer is that the service will remain so long as there is demand for it. We don't have specific lime limiting plans on its life right now.

There will be duplication when porting to multiple platforms, which should be reflected in the quote/bundle deal we would provide.

  • @Please login to see this link. yes! The conversion is using our brand new Fusion 3 core to generate direct C++ code from user projects. Fusion 2.5 uses a runtime, albeit a very good one, to interpret logic at runtime. Fusion 3 builds a direct EXE or executable for the target platform, so the overheads are massively reduced.

  • Very excited about this unexpected development. It not only is a smart marketing step to get flagship projects out there but also shows how far F3 has obviously come. Expect a curious mail from me in the next days!
