Build 291.6 - Release version

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Clickteam.
• ohh I see, I need to edit my statement:
There is literally no hype for F3, and with Clickteam's marketing side of things, ohh boy, please adapt and survive

I just can't understand why Clickteam doesn't give more information about Fusion 3, or at least explain to us WHY there are no informations, and why, after all this time, there's still no Alpha for us to test. Were there any huge problems with the development or something?
In the Video from 2016 Fusion 3 looked already "well" developed. I thought it was almost finished and all they had to do was some (big) work on the UI.
In early 2018, Fusion 3 already had the ability to export complete games, and now by the end of 2018, there is still no Alpha?
In addition to all that, simon also said some weeks ago: "Fusion 3 is NOT just around the corner."

I've honestly already stopped using Fusion 2.5, but if Fusion 3 ever comes out, I'll buy it right away because I love the Event Editor.
It's so much better for me than "traditional programming", even though I can code.

• Sorry guys we've been extremely busy for 10 months with special work that monopolized 200% of all our resources, and as it was already difficult for me to find time to visit this forum before, it was just nearly imposible. :-| (actually the fact the bug box is "temporarily" dead was almost a gift... even if I know it's boring...)

I'm not here to give news about F3, its completion was delayed due to the work we made this year (so yes it's not yet around the corner). The good news are (1) this special work will open new capabilities for F3, (2) during this period we've added major new features to 2.5 for internal use, and are going to release an important version. More info very soon.

• Great!!! Yves
Actually, F2.5 is good but haven't major structures yet. If you add main features we don't need to wait for Fusion 3 at the moment think so. For ex. I strongly need to zoom function for mobiles or shaders, that doesn't work on mobiles too.
Can you tell us some main new features of F2.5? And is it before Christmas?

• A large part of those new features was made to improve productivity with big projects. We'll release more details soon.

That sounds good, since thats the biggest problem with fusion.
I think if Fusion 2.5 improves in such areas, waiting for Fusion 3 becomes much more bearable.

• Clickteam is still alive!:D

Well of course they're still alive! Their software products are amazing! Simple to use. Also, a little more familiar in software development coding.

I just wish more people use CT products...... But the ppl I know in game development just use other development programs I'm sure is not allowed to discuss here. Though I still support Clickteam

• This doesn't make any sense.

Adding in new features are just adding in new bugs on top of existing bugs.

You have moved to a monthly fee with your Patreon and paid training so that we now must pay a monthly subscription if we want support - or we get none.
Already Clickteam staff are telling people if they want to request a feature you must join Patreon.

People complain about objects becoming corrupt or unable to be deleted in the forums - and then Olivier quotes a post from Yves from 2010 stating that you can’t fix it etc. In eight years, you've not thought to release a small utility that will help people go into the database and remove an object?

Why don't you try working on a project with a couple thousand lines and you can't use Goto line because Fusion crashes at random and you can’t risk it. Your bookmarks don’t copy across frames – so they’re not very useful either – you first must get to line 1200 before you can put a bookmark there.

Why don't you try to write a game, find something that doesn’t work – and realise that there’s nothing you can do now. You must re-think / rewrite the game differently because there’s no support – you just can’t have that feature in your game.

Have you bothered to check how many people in your community work on large enough projects to need this potential new feature?

Have you looked around and noticed that other software companies who tried to be something for everyone lost their entry-level developers? The software becomes too complicated and too expensive. Most people aren’t going to use all the features that are available, but they, unfortunately, must pay for them anyway.

So, no bug tracker, no person to attend to bugs anyway – so here you have Fusion 2.5. If the feature works, great, you can use it. If it doesn’t – well too bad. There’s nothing you can do about it.

This is NOT true.
Patreon is for getting extra free items, or if you have the highest Tier.. Personal support for issues that the user is having, and they help you with solutions.
Paid training is offered by a Clickteam member staff person as an extra. (Just like all other 1000's of Trainers that are offering training).

Please don't spread Rumors that ain't there.

• Janette, we have made this version for and with people who make large games and in the meantime we have fixed crashes and issues, the build 292 is going to be released soon too with these fixes (but this requires lots of tests due to the new version, that's why this new build took more time to make than the previous ones).

About the support, I'm very sorry but the fact the bug box is down doesn't depend on me. I wish it would be back shortly. I would do it myself as I know it's very important but I can't. We're just waiting for the people in charge of it find a solution. :( And you can use the support contact form for free if you have an important issue that you would like us to address.

• Hello Yves , I just wanted to wish you all the best and thank you for all the tremendous work that Clickteam has done over the year to make what fusion 2.5 is today. With all the features that have been gradually added , the number of potential bugs has multiplied in kind and dealing with these must certainly and understandably take up much of your time. So I guess that the staff must be torn between delivering support for fusion 2.5 and allocating resources towards innovating for the next version. Complaints are coming from both ends of this spectrum , and I believe that clickteam is doing their best to face these challenges.
I have a suggestion : address the one end of the spectrum for which visibility would not run the risk of exposing "secrets" to the competition : fusion 2.5 support. ( this is not a personal plea since, as a modest fusion 2.5 user , it is working perfectly for what I can / I want to achieve with it )
a) the bug box : maybe turn temporarily to a third party solution and ask users to re-post their most urgent requests there
b) fusion 2.5 : keep a page updated as to what requests and known bugs are currently being worked on, ( with an indicator as to how difficult fixing the prb appears to be) either on the third party tool mentioned above or in the forum
==> This would make most developers happy in so far as it would allow them to have a better outlook on what they would be able to achieve with their project
c) With more visibility given to what's going on with F2.5 , the community could be more willing to understand that F3 in return has to be kept in the dark : several users of products by competitors have reported that those competitors were largely "inspired" ( to say the least ) by Fusion's features and mechanics

In short : allocate more communication effort to fusion 2.5 to keep current users happy , while preserving clickteam's edge for future versions…
Longue vie à Clickteam !
