[WIP] LVL Edit - level designing tool for Firefly

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

    I'm currently working on retro 3D platform shooter using Clickteam Firefly and I'm excited to share with You my tool for designing levels. It's called LVL Edit. Here's some of it's features:

    I know that Firefly has it's own World Editor - but I just looove making apps with Clickteam tools.
    Here's some simple FPS level done with it - just to show how to integrate "copy paste LVL Edit loading level" events.

    - Invisible properties bug while object selected
    - LVL Edit FPP example - alpha channel bug fixed (actions order)
    - Fog bug for Static Mesh materials
    - Object properties: Quick 45deg rotations buttons updates rotation edit boxes in Transform Tab
    - Basic lighting (no save - w.i.p. still buggy)
    - Changed zoom values from 100-200% to 0-100%
    - Better tooltip position when mouse over animation tab in properties
    - Updated testers list
    - LVL Edit Settings: changed layout with tabs above
    - Object properties: change object name font color depends on it's visibility

  • If You mean You can't download .rar file - I should look into that. If You have problem with running LVL Edit.exe - that's the LVL Edit Statistics fault - it should be turned off at start (user should be able to decide first if he want to send application stats to help me improve that tool). If You want to avoid that message You can edit file data.ini where LVL Edit is, change line: raports=1 to raports=0 and computer should accept application - no raports. Thank You for Your feedback.

  • Hi. Work on the tool is still ongoing and it's doing well. The program is growing in strength. It's on the Patreon website for some time. Soon another version with a lot of improvements.

  • I purchased Firefly, but never used it. I was hoping for Android support.

    I think this will depend on Your assets organization. I'll be working on that to make it as simple as it can be or maybe You're thinking about online assets packages.

  • Here's what I managed to achieve using Firefly 3D extension and LVL Edit. A lot of hard work... without LVL Edit I'll give up I guess...
    From an artistic perspective I decided to not use Firefly Billboard objects. Only meshes and primitives (some with spritesheet animations).

    Here's one of levels I'm making. Currently no enemies and UI, maybe later. One of the assets isn't mine (hand with a gun) - I'll change it...
