Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

I am curious about the progress
Is there anything you can tell us about what the devs are working on in f3 atm?
-
Please adhere to the thread rules, no 1. being please don't ask questions about what stage we're at - as we've said, when we can release details we will do so.

after one year of waiting im writing for last time (i know, who cares...) my thoughts, not about fusion 3, but about the communication between clickteam and me cause i speak for myself (maybe others feel the same too).
its been a year after the blog that gives hope and a smile in my face when i read about the work put on f3, console ports, beta in 2018, testers and other stuff which were very promising, and despite the fact that many of us waiting till the last day of 2017 at least for an alpha version of F3 or an exhibition video like you've done before (because the official plan of fusion 3 was 2017) reading the news back in january the vibes were very positive..
after these news we've got a couple of blog updates about porting and one in may about adding compatibility with more controllers and then nothing at all.. the thread about Fusion 3 transformed in a newer one with RULES in orange backround warning us about the direction we should communicate about the project. if you ask for something "permitted" the most usual answers are 1) when we can release details we will tell , or 2) cant give details right now other than we've made public. so its an almost dead thread about the future of fusion...its not a thread about a forgotten addon which no one cares its a thread about the program itself.
guys i know that you respect our interest and our love about fusion but please inform us what is going on. the most of the time that im searching here about a new update and dont see any for long time i feel fool that i still believe in fusion 3...
sorry for grammar mistakes and i hope you understand what i wrote english is not my native language.

I love Clickteam and I have a lot of respect and affection for the company, mainly because of the positive impact their software had on my life, but I was tired of raising expectations about CF3.
-
I'm eager to see F3, I won't lie. I'm hoping Clickteam will start showing little featurettes or a new blog post at some point. That said, ff all forums of people, this group should know that development takes time. Sometimes lots of time. Then multiply that by 4.

The problem is not the development time, but the lack of communication.

We are doing lots of amazing things, some things due to the time table we don't want in public knowledge simply because of the fact we have competitors. And we don't want to regurgitate the same material. We have to find that happy middle ground (Which we don't have yet) between constant information and asset and IP protection.
-
wpd we haven't made any announcements about F3 in Mac. As for not opening an app in a cafe because it's ugly on your Mac screen... Words fail me!
That was funny XD

Fair deuce! The post by Chris (thank you for that Chris) is something at least, and I get that 100%. A simple, "Hey guys, we're moving along, Yves is working on something cool and we're looking forward to showing you." would go a long way.
-
PixelatedPict every development needs time multiply it by 8 if you want all we want is communication..unity, c3, gms, unreal, blender, zbrush etc.. all the programs need time to develop but developers behind them are in touch with their customers showing the progress and keep them "warm" with new stuff. despite the fact that there are competitors out there for them also...

Because it seems that Fusion 3 can import files created with fusion 2.5, would be possible to know, even partially, which extensions will surely be supported?
-
Why not have a private selected group of people in an alpha/beta forum? It's something that has been done in the past and really I thought a great boon for users and developers alike. Could be a good way to get some interest generated ahead of release for F3. Win-win

I'm sincerely believe that it's the end for Clickteam (and i hope i'm wrong.)
No more info about exporters, updates for 2.5, Fusion 3 (which was planned for 2017), forums is empty, members unhappy, and when we want to talk about, either the messages are deleted or we are reprimanded by the staff.
Please, consider us as customers of clickteam product since many years, and must of it, potential customers for Fusion 3. :\QuoteWe are doing lots of amazing things, some things due to the time table we don't want in public knowledge simply because of the fact we have competitors. All your competitors released their soft almost 2 years ago...

You are correct Jonathan, but in MHO, some are somewhat diminished in productivity. A least worth pulling your hair out by the roots. Clickteam will pull through for us.

I'm not unhappy, I understand it's going to take time.
I can see some others, usually the most vocal ones, are unhappy. I'm not certain basing that on a few vocal people is indicative of the rest of us.
I wouldn't mind some news, because I like to see new developments. But I can wait, too. F2.5 is working pretty well for my needs. I am also looking forward to what's new in F3.
-
Well said geothefaust. You and I have been around for a long time. I am not unhappy and I am pretty vocal. F3 will be here, but it just needs more time for the programmers. I can say as fact that 2 staff have been added just for F3.

Newtek (developers of the 3d software Lightwave) made the grave mistake of keeping their users in the dark without news or blog entries for almost two years. Many long-time users gave up hope and left after screaming their frustration over the lack of communication.
Please don't make the same mistake. Even a mere hopeful blog message every now and then will keep spirits up. Your competitors (both commercial as well as open source ones) are communicating with their user crowds ALL THE TIME, and you, dear Clickteam devs, are playing right into their hands by being silent. So instead of trying to figure out how to find the right balance and hardly communicating at all, I'd like to suggest that no communication might be more damaging than lifting the veil just a tiny bit.
The first rule is to keep the lines of communication open with your client(s). It's really only a matter of perceived mutual trust. People want to feel safe and cozy, and a long-term silence, even if Fusion 3 is meant to be released in a few months time, will shatter those feelings.
-
the release approach of keeping all the users in the dark until its ready is one of the reasons I started using open source game engines and have even started contributing on one very similar to clickteam's at github. It feels that the community truly owns the tools and their future.
That said, even without news, my interest and my eyes are still here. I check this forum and the website to see if there are news on f3. The open source stuff is a way for me to pass the time. I like the transparency and ability to see the devs add features on github - in a sense it has become the biggest social network for developers. But seeing it all form slowly can take away from the excitement of a release and I understand why clickteam has decided to keep it under wrapsI am sure that a lot of the fusion users are loyal and won't leave for other software. I may use other software, but I will still buy f3 when it's out
Clickteam probably can afford this long dev cycle if there is no rush to get it released. But if you have anything to do with the planning, for the love of god, see this

when mmf was first released it was not on par in terms of features with fusion 2.5, but there was something released. I will be ok if fusion 3 is a minimum viable product with less features but better code re-usability. A better architecture is a reason enough to upgrade, even if it has less features. If you have that, its already in the bag. But people will eventually lose interest if it never comes out. Putting big expectations and promising loads of stuff, followed by silence will frustrate the userbase for sure. If anything I would try to keep some surprises for the release and stop promising stuff that is planned to be added. If that stuff is keeping it from release and it is something that can be added later- just cut it out from the release. Add later, it will help with marketing after release- announcing new features is way better when the thing is out and the features can be used by the users. If you keep announcing new features and pushing the release to next year, the announcements will lose their credibility -
I support Clickteam 100% and am waiting patiently for Fusion 3 to be released. Meanwhile, Fusion 2.5 is still great as ever!
