How do i use tileset in CF Frame Editor?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • u can't use tilesets in frame editor. But
    1. u can separate each tileset pieces into actives/backdrops and draw em using paint mode.
    2. u can make own level editor with autotiling.

I like Option 2 more than 1. Depends on how big the project is. 1 is fine if you're doing a small project with only a few levels. If you're doing something big though go with option 2 as it'll save a LOT of time on importing.

  • Ok,thank for the feedback...since its not possible to use it directly,im thinking on design it using other apps like Tiled, import my tileset there and export the whole level as image file. Load in CF editor, and draw on invisible collision object. What is the drawback using this method?

  • why Tiled? You can use frame editor as level editor:
    PROS:
    1. Frame editor features
    2. Less coding
    CONS:
    0. U need to make a LOT of Actives and put em into folder (i have experience putting 600 actives into one folder XD ) and mark em as Global Objects.
    1. as far as each instances of one object sharing SAME movements, behiavours, variables, angle.
1.1. That means, if you need to make, for example, cannons, wich is shooting into different angles - u must make different versions of that cannons (up, down, left, right verions)
    2. as far as your frame editor gain more levels - saving mfa will take longer time.
2.1 opening that project also takes some time

    * You can find, afaik, Tiled extension and examples in EXAMPLES/WIDGETS forum section

  • haha...what i mean is i just use Tiled just to create map in image form. Then put them as background in CF and draw active object as obstacle(i mean one is enough for the whole level)..

    Thanks:)
