I could be wrong on this, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I -think- that it also has to do with the codec used to render the video. I'm just not sure what is the most "universal" codec for that so that it has maximum compatibility.

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

People say the most universal would be the .wmv that should come with windows since windows XP or 8? Can't remember. Anyway I have one tester who is still on Windows 7 and asked her to run a small experiment that jumps to 3 frames and plays a video with different codecs/formats.
One is a .mp4 encoded with h.264
Another is a .webm
Another is a .wmv with standard
And she said none played on her machine, but outside Fusion she could play 2 out of 3 (.mp4 and .mwv)
I suppose this is related to what Yves mentioned about media foundation here Please login to see this link. However, the codec used on .wmv was the windows media 8, it should played I think? Yves can you give me a light on this? I'm also using DirectX11 with "Use Media Foundation with DirectX 11"
ticked. Please login to see this attachment.
I'll put temporarily the mfa with the videos if anyone wants to check out: Please login to see this link.

All three of the formats played for me.

cool, thanks. Same here all 3 played. But probably because we already have the codecs installed...
-
I also tried it on my Win 10 laptop that I've never installed any codec packs and they all three played through the exe.

My best guess is that since the MFA is on DirectX11 with Use Media Foundation with DirectX 11, it goes smoothly with Windows 10 which either comes with codec from factory and/or updates more easily? And in case of Windows 7, it won't access the benefits pf DirectX 11 with Use Media Foundation I think. Maybe Yves can shine a light on the subject.

All note if you where not already aware..
MPX is a licensed media format so if you plan on selling any creation which will make use of MPX then make sure your content doesn't hit the "FREE" limit for number of 'subscribers' or media time length for royalty fees to be applied.
I would recommend using OGM (vorbis) which has a high compression ratio like MP4/5 and is free and compatible with Android/HTML5 out of the box.
You can also download the DXfilter media codec to make it compatible with windows and then use this instead. -
