Adobe animate animation (flash)

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I use to make complex characters animation in the Adobe animate software (formerly Adobe flash)
My characters animations have hi-resolution with a lot of frame ... to export them and to import each frame in Fusion will take verry much disk space and isn't efficiant.

I'm still searching a solution do do it since some years and without it I will not be able to bring my project to live ;(

I would like to find a solution like : Please login to see this link. for unity. (I tried it with unity and it work verry well... but I don't want to restart my project from scratch on a new more complex engine)

I found nothing like this solution for fusion, but I'm sure that an extention to display and interact flash sprite or gaf media object could be writen. Unfortunately I don't have the skills myself to write this kind of complex extention.

I would like to know if someone have a solution that could allow me to use my animations in fusion.

    Thank you for help.

  • I know Wayfoward managed to make the game(s) LIT and Cat Girl Without Salad using Clickteam Fusion and those games have hi-res 2D graphics. Shout out to Volnaiskra the creator of Spryke which is a beautiful game made using Fusion as well.

When you create a character or tile for a game in Adobe Animate export each frame of animation as a .png with a transparent background. Be sure to name each file with a number at the end like so:

Please login to see this attachment.

That way when you import the image(s) for an Active Object or Background Object depending on what you need, You can import the images by clicking on the folder icon in the image editor here: Please login to see this attachment.

And then choose the first image / number in the animation you want and it will automatically add the rest in terms of numbered frames: Please login to see this attachment.

Hope that kinda helps if you have any questions please ask here.

  • Yeah, you can definitely achieve a lot with PNG sequences. But you do really need to keep the resolution, framerate and/or length of your animations down. I made a rookie mistake early on in my project and created a nice background animation that had lots of frames and was 500x300px or something like that. It looked great, but took up something like 300mb of RAM. Which is definitely not what you want from a decorative animation hiding somewhere in the background.

If there's some way of converting Flash animations into Spriter animations, then perhaps the Please login to see this link. could help you.

  • I already know how to import animation "in batch" in fusion and it's what I did currently... It's work... dispatch, rotate and place points animation take long time and need to be carefull each time I did a lot of repetitives actions and it take a lot of space. I also need to repeat all this long process if I want to update anything on the animation. To do it for all my animation will become borring and really not efficiant.

    I'm searching a bether solution.

Spriter plugin seem to be currently the closer solution for my problem ... I will try to find converter for my animation from flash to Spriter but I don't have any idea if it will work.

The best solution stay to make a GAF media plugin for Fusion 2.5... after all my test in unity it seem to be really the best format possible to export thing for games with Adobe Animate...
I ask documentation of GAF format to the authors of the plugin ... I will see, but unfortunately, I don't have C++ skills to make plugins (I understand and know only JS, PHP and Python)
