Wip - Fast Tune Maker World's Fastest music maker!

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • First Thanks also to forum members Decal and Fuuriokun for without their help I would not have posted today or for a very, very long time!

For the first time, you can create fast tunes using your PC keys and use backspace to erase wrong notes entered in...
You can compose in the 3rd or 4th octave only... and as of now only the steel guitar is available as instrument.

For now the first thing you want to type is a dash, so when you press play (P) your first note will sound right off the bat.

    Needs:

1- I haven't gotten to know how to do this properly yet is to include more tracks (instruments) for simultaneous play...
2- Loading and saving to text using the edit box (seems a piece of cake, just haven't gotten to do that yet)

This is an mfa for all of us (no commercialization intended) so feel free to pick up and extend and help on the "Needs"! the aim is to make this the fastest composer ever, and it is! :D

  • I'm very happy as Need 1 has been addressed: I figured out how to play more than one instrument and such feature is included inside the mfa!
Now I can start to think about making the other instruments: drums, bass, lead, brass and strings.

    General controls:

Press 1 to enable composing in edit box 1 (1st voice),
Press 2 for edit box 2 (2nd voice)
Press 3 (after recording on both boxes to allow for simultaneous playing of the 2 boxes)

use z-s-x-d-c-v-g-b-h-n-j-m-, to play an octave of notes
press shift to play octave 4.
press backspace to erase a wrong note
press P to play the song!

So now we only have 3 Needs:

1- music always starts on the second note, unless you start your composition with a dash
2- music plays over and over after it finishes reading the composition (it needs to stop after last "musical note" read)
3- Loading and saving to text using the edit box (seems a piece of cake, just haven't gotten to do that yet)

    Here is the updated mfa:

The good news is the coding for this mfa has gotten to acceptable level!!! this means you can "walk over" the needs with alternatives that won't stop you from making your tunes! here are the work-arounds:

For Need 1: start your compositions with a dash sign (-)

For Need 2: add rests at the end of your composition. When you record to pc using stereo mix, just cut out any sound played after the recording

For Need3: press 2 to disable the first edit box and use mouse to highlight, copy (Ctrl+C) the composition made inside the edit box and paste to notepad! ;D

  • There has been some amazing features now and so here is the latest screenshot!
you can now load a written composition from notepad and have it played back!
Please login to see this attachment.
    6 instruments are being added
    32 notes
    6 recording channels
    notepad composing, saving and loading
    delete a wrong key
your song is mathematically perfect as it is recorded at the correct tic and time automatically!
create tunes faster than with any other keyboard because of the delete a wrong note feature while live recording!

  • I'm glad you liked it aenever! and for all forum friends, there is a guy who is working with me, he is picking it up to start to create a commercial android version.
I might or might not be involved in helping him with the graphics and sounds. But for us here I plan to make the PC version free for all of us and so I plan to upload the mfa here for us to use it to make our music with and together expand its functionality (we all know PC is the power :D).

So if any of you would like to jump in and help the PC version come on board and I will let you know some of the things it may need... but before that I will be creating, probably tomorrow a list of all I plan to do with it. It is nothing complicated, but aims to be the fastest music/tune making and is aimed at electronic music/video game music first of all as each note is set at a correct timing...

I have however created a separate mfa which includes real human performance recorded re-arranging and playback! and if most of you would like we can merge both alternatives into the program!
So far I have recorded 6 instruments which come from my own Yamaha DGX-205 keyboard.

So no chip-tune sounds yet, but That's something you can start to do if you have these free tools: the Daw: LMMS in which to load chip-tune soundfonts (which I have and can give you) and Audacity with which you can record the note samples and export to ogg.
There are a total of 32 notes for an instrument and 16 for Drums.
I will be posting the inside note mapping layout soon!
By the screenshot of the keyboard you can see which notes are the ones it has (on my keyboard) the "DO" starts on the second octave

  • This is Perfect Rhytm, SINGLE DIGIT notepad musical notation manipulation (it doesn't get any better than that)
Please login to see this link.

    FastTune multi-track Recorder:
Record your songs to notepad (YES NOTEPAD) using your PC keyboard! musical notes are converted to Single Digit values which can be shared!
Record (always) in perfect timing and never record a wrong note!
    Make a tune in minutes!!!

As promised, here is the latest mfa! (lots of changes and features!)
Today I worked on the buttons animations, so almost all of them (the essentials for now anyway) are working!
So far only the Piano instrument is working and I must change from E.Piano to just Piano, because it is a grand, not an electric one.
Download directly from my website: Please login to see this link. (right click, save link as)
Remember, this is for all of us so let's get the world's fastest PC musical composer in top shape!
    Needs are now to:
1- Bring in the other instruments
2- Separate events for when user presses a track to record (track 1 records the drums, 2: bass, 3: piano, 4: strings, 5: brass, 6: pipe)
    3- Light the appropriate lights
4- recording field should only be visible when enabling track recording
5- enable live playing when turning on the Keyboard

In the mfa you will see several frames but the Main (best one) is the first one! the other frames are there so that in the future we can merge these technologies into the main frame (should need be)

if any of you advance any of the needs for me, please post here asap so I can work on the other needs and we can finish this asap too!
These are the note mappings: (see pic)

  • 5 days later and Hey, all the 3 or so Needs posted somewhere above have been FIXED!! HOORRAYYY!!!! :D

I forgot to include the note (sound) samples for each of the 6 instruments that I recorded out of my Yamaha DGX-205 keyboard. Here they are: this is the complete development package in zip.

And friends, This is one of the most important thing (as of now) I forgot to mention before:

This program needs a very important feature which is simply to be able to insert the cursor (with a mouse click) inside the edit box and be able to paste inside there at anywhere we wish, to make it easy to not have to compose the same part you've already made all over again.

So far the cursor seems to be locked to the last digit (note) typed.
So if this feature could be momentarily (temporarily) available when we click the mouse and disabled when we click off, that would be KILLER!

Please login to see this link. (no need to right click)

Lastly, I am planning to create a web page for (this) our project! (I will post the link once I am done)

  • News: Hoorrayy! 2 good news:

News n.1: I have completed associating all 32 new Piano keyboard keys with their corresponding musical notes. This means you can now play the piano using the visible piano keys on the actual keyboard on the screen!

News n.2: in favor of easiness and simpleness, I have just ditched using the PC keys for note insertion, wrong key deletion and recorded music playback. We will now just use the on-screen musical keyboard for that!
No more trying to figure out what PC keys plays what musical notes!

All that is left to finish with the piano is to associate its notes to be played back after recording as this version has gotten 7 new notes which weren't available on the previous version. These very same new notes were added to the already awesome world's first SINGLE DIGIT notation technique. Download now on the link on the post above! :o

Now, all is good to jump to the next 5 instruments: Drums, Bass, Strings, Brass and Pipe. I will start tomorrow!
After all that is done, You will then be able to record and notate to text 6 different instruments and play them back simultaneously!
Good night and see you soon! (1:55am sleep time)

  • You can now record the drums, and hear the drums and piano together. But there is something wrong:
I did a lot of event changes organizing here and there!
You can hear the piano and the drums together only if both have recorded content in them
So if the drums have content, but not the piano, you won't hear anything as if the drum track is a slave to the piano track
this does not happen when only the piano has content. So I will see what the fix is, and if all goes well, then I can go ahead and finish the recording for the other instruments.
I guess I might have to have the play functionality for each recorded instrument group. Not just laying outside them as one command.
the Rest (dash sign) and the Erase buttons now make a sound so you know you've added a rest or erased a note! beautiful isn't it? :D
    see you later!
Here is the latest: Please login to see this link.

you are welcome to help! this is for all of us!

  • whatever was wrong in the post above I have fixed. All is working perfect now! I am very happy to have figured this out (I was not the one who created the counters, but other collaborators and they could not help, as they may have been busy or something else) and because now all that is left is to enable recording the other 4 instruments.
I've figured that I had to create independent counters for the drums as well...
Have fun for now playing all instruments and recording 2: Please login to see this link.
