What would be the best way to add lighting?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I've been looking into making games I make look more pleasing to the eye, and one thing I've seen is lighting with Clickteam games. What would be the best way to go about making simple lighting, affected by walls and such.

Also, would it be possible to make the visor on my character sprite not be affected by lighting? (To make it appear like it's glowing), and even have it's own glow effect?

  • I use the masking way Please login to see this link.

You can expand it with different sizes of light. I have an additional layer with the same lighting objects but they are colored, so the original mask makes it "light up" and the second one makes it colored, this way you can customize the look. Got this older gif of a WIP project if you want to see what i mean Please login to see this link.

the project works but i get this, any idea what i've done wrong?

You can get it on Please login to see this link.

I'm super happy that you tried to help me, I really appreciate it but that link does not work. I get that while I implied that I was talking about the extensions, I did not explicitly mention them so it's my fault that you gave me a 404.
The problem is null though because one can just use the extension manager in fusion
