Sharing events across multiple frames?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi.
Is it possible to share the same events across multiple frames? Now, when I create a game I make main game engine frame, with player, enemies and events itp, and then I clone that frame to make diffrent levels. But if I find i bug or just want to change some event, I have to edit that event in all of those frames separately, and its very problematic and time consuming if I have many levels. Is it possible to automate this so I can edit the same event in all of those frames in one move? Or to make one frame with events, and other frames woud just import events from main frame?

  • There are several ways to do it:
-If you have Fusion 2.5+ you can use global events and they will work on all frames
-You can save your levels and load them in the main frame only. You can learn how to that from the chocobreak tutorial here: Please login to see this link. Check the level template part specifically
-Using behaviors; basically doing the code for each object inside of it so it can function anywhere

  • Just to note, you don't need 2.5+ in order to use Global Events, they are available in all versions of Fusion 2.5.

2.5+ does offer some better handling of stuff like qualifiers and setting a base frame.

I would certainly look at the angle of using just one frame for the game engine and then creating your own external level editor...
