Reset the INI file start of game problem

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • To reset an inifile, you can simply delete the file. If the file doesn't start out blank, you could have one ini file that has all the start of game values, and then let the actual inifile copy that file at the start of the game. In either case, you might benefit from not using an ini file at all, but global values / strings instead.

  • I use different groups inside the ini file.

Settings like music / sound is in a group and the player's score / objects are in another group. To reset the game the player can either press a button that deletes that group - or choose another player / save slot - which lets them keep their game but also start a new game.

If you choose to delete the ini file - you will have to re-save whatever main settings are saved in there, unless you use different ini files.

But I agree with Popcorn, it doesn't sound like you really need an ini file.
