Fraud in Development Course

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • First, guys, hello everyone! :) Second, excuse me for any grammatical errors! I am using a translator to let me understand by the largest number of people here on the forum.
My name is Rodrigo and I am a teacher in one of the biggest game development courses in Brazil. One of our courses is exclusively focused on learning and using Fusion 2.5.
At the end of the course, all students must submit a final project that they have created themselves. But recently one of my students delivered a project that is MUCH above the capabilities that he presented throughout the course.
I honestly believe that he got the file from somewhere on the internet but, unfortunately, I couldn't find the source. :(
The art itself is by an Artist called Pixel Frog. I've already talked to him and he doesn't know the source.
Could you help me with this problem?
I am 100% sure that this student did not create the game on his own but I cannot accuse him without proof. Attached .mfa file.

    Thank you all!

  • Maybe check YouTube or Clickstore, however, I think you're looking for a couple of examples that this person put together from various sources, not just one because:

The Fase frame everything is correctly named up to naming layers.

On the selector screen everything is named Active Object. Someone who names their active objects in detail, like the Fase frames, won't have a frame where everything is named Active Object.

Lines 4 and 5 on the level frame are redundant, so clearly the example used had 5 levels, and there's not enough understanding here to have removed the code for levels 4 and 5 - it still appears throughout.

They also jump to deleted frames, so it's reasonable to assume there was 5 levels, then 2 were deleted.

Instead of trying to prove the source is elsewhere, try to prove he does not know the code well enough.

Introduce some bugs, like extra conditions, and see if he can debug it quickly by knowing which part of the code has the relevant issue.

Have the code jump to stage 3 when you press button for stage 2 in level menu. See if he notices the difference.

Remove comments, edit the names out of groups, and ask him what that group does by reading the code. If he's as advanced as he claims he should have a rough idea of which group is which just by order.

Or you could just ask him to be honest, point out some of the evidence and play good cop/bad cop.

this IS the actual code/source used

unless the Student is the uploader for this, and the student was already "capable" before the course, he did it himself; otherwise he "borrowed" this file for himself.
