PixelArt and Hq images in the same frame?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Just upscale your pixel art (by a factor of 2, 3, 4, or 5 for example). You can technically also change the scale of the sprites in game, but I'd recommend importing the sprites at the size that you want to begin with.

  • Upscale by a factor of 2 is a good rule to follow for pixel art. Example if your original pixel art is 16X16 upscale it to 32X32. If original is 32X32 upscale to 64X64.

You can resize upscale graphics in fusions graphic editor check Proportional check box and stretch check box as long as you do not check resample image, your graphics will resize without adding extra unwanted pixels.

I normally work out the size of my other graphics and then resize my pixel art to fit in with the rest of the look. I am a fan of mixing art styles myself. Hope the tips help.

  • I wanted to do this before since i saw Celeste have pixelart but HQ portraits and menus. I dont think its possible with fusion sadly. I asked the programmer for Celeste how they did it and basically they rendered the pixelart first and then overlayed the HQ art over that but fusion cant split up the rendering as far as i know.

Yes! You're right, but the C4t metod worked really good.
Well you have to resize all your sprites in fusions graphic editor, but if you copy and paste them, then will be more easy.

I did a simple test and it works!
