Yes, I have been waiting on this all year as well. It seems the problem was reported on these forums sometime in 2020.
The school I work at exclusively uses ipads in the classrooms so I have been building html5 games for the students to practice their listening skills for Japanese. Its a bit of a shame there doesn't seem to be a work around for it.

J'ai essayé de simuler le problème avec les outils smartphone de firefox chrome et aurora simulants l'Ipad mais je n'ai pas de message; ceci dit j'ai trouvé l'endroit
où ce message est envoyé dans le runtime.js mais je n'ai pas d'IPAD 
Il faudrait que j'en trouve un pour contourner ce problème ; peut être cette semaine....
Ok, I unchecked "iOS : wait for a touch" and rebuilt the app, but now I get into app but after first screen click, I can not click any further. Also no sound.
This is really breaking my site!

I also have real trouble with this. We have a membership site with HTML5 applications and there are customers who use exclusively iPads. The only answer I can give them is to return their money!

If I understand correctly the users must first set their iPhone to "desktop mode" so that the applications will work. Is it also necessary to ask them to click on the button in the first frame?
Yes exactly, clicking the button in the first frame activates the application and all subsequent frames work correctly.
if you want you can write in the html5 options of the "Set desktop site" program, instead of "Touch the screen to continue."

Tricky for me to get young kids to set their ipad browser to desktop view. Does anyone know of a html tag or script that will do this automatically? I have had a look online but could not find any examples.
Desktop mode makes the application work, the first frame makes the audio work. No i found anything to do it automatically
