big images fully filled with pixels VS transparents pixels

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • It should be the same.

PS: avoid using such a big image, some old video cards don't support images larger than 2048x2048 (at least on DX9, not sure for DX11, and some mobile devices too), plus it's bad for VRAM management.

Not to mention, if you export to ANDROID. You will have a super huge .aab or .apk.

I found this out the hard way and had to redo the game. What I found to work great is to create your level entirely then cut up the image and import it into the Game as Pieces. You will notice that your tiny pieces sometimes don't need to be different. So, you can reuse a ton of them for the levels.

I.E. You cut up your 4000 x 4000 image and have 4000 x (10x10) Blocks. You may only need 1000 of them to recreate the entire level. Grass and sky most likely could use the same blocks.
