Mega cropped icon after update

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hello,

After updating fusion and using the latest API, my icons are cropped a lot, looks like a big zoom
Please login to see this attachment.

Why is there such a big difference?
    Did i miss something?
I can't tell if it's from Fusion, or API, or my phone.

    I use a 192x192 .png 72ppi
I try with a 512x512, there is no differences.

If I zoom out my icon I get an image too small for older phones.
    What do you suggest?

  • Thanks for the link. I read a lot of documentation but I had not seen this one!

The cropping seemed gigantic to me, I did not understand why. Now I see it's for making parallax effects and animations.
But we need to create a foreground and a background, I guess these functions are not yet integrated in Fusion??

In the meantime I will further reduce the size of my icon, whatever for old phones.

  • It can adapt to any shape the launcher uses.
Have you tested the new one in a old phone btw?

I guess you're only supposed to use the entire resolution before this change, and only if didn't care about having parts of it cropped by the shape from the phone's theme.
In the new adaptive icons, I suppose the blank part will never be seen, even on old phones. Meaning you have to leave a border and reduce the icon to fit the center area.

Here's how it looks on mine btw

  • After a few changes it looks like this :
Please login to see this attachment.
Now it's nice on the s8 phone, but the empty background is weird on the older one.
I guess it's better to focus on newer formats...!?

Yeah, unfortunately Google thought it was a great Idea to make all Android app Icons Ugly as sin. However, I did find if you make the mass semi Transparent then make your app icon small within the UGLY Google Shape. Your app will be whatever shape you made it. Although, if you are selling this on the Playstore. Google might have an issue with the Icon actually looking nice.
