Continuing my practices in better understanding Fusion, can anyone recommend me some good tutorials on how to tackle DOOM/Wolfenstein style games using the engine?

I think you'll want to take a look at the Raycaster object on the Clickstore. It includes an example with the download and only costs $4. There's also a tutorial for it available on YouTube from Sparckman.

Another alternative is P3D, it's a set of shaders and mfa template that can create faux 3D more advanced than Raycaster, also on Clickstore.

Several years ago I saw a doom style demo on Twitter by the author of LVLE, which is an alternative world editor for firefly, as CT’s built-in one is somewhat unusable. Download LVLE then you can find the example, I played around with it when gathering materials for a short instruction of firefly in 2017 or 2018, I forget.
Five years later, we didn’t get any updates of firefly, CT said there will be someone else who continues the develop as Triadian left. I stopped checking the state of LVLE since 2020, don’t know if it’s still continued or not. -

I remember having issues with this object (the editor seemed to become unresponsive and quit), but I haven't fiddled around with it in a long time, maybe 2017 or so. I think it might have been some kind of compatibility issue with win8 or win10 but I wasn't 100% sure and gave up. Was there an update to fix this? (Or a fix that I probably missed)

I don't believe there was ever an official fix for that issue and it's one that I've encountered myself. However I believe a workaround exists. All you need to do is go into the editor EXE's properties and set it to execute with administrator privileges and in compatibility mode for either Windows 95 or Windows 98 (if that doesn't work try selecting Windows XP or Windows 2000). Let me know if that works.
