P3D doesn't work in current version?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • It seems like P3D doesn't work properly in the current version of Fusion, or I am missing some install step needed. This is what I see when I try to run the examples:

It kind of seems like the z-order of the images that are being drawn is backwards or something in some cases? Other examples actually look even worse than this one, this one almost looks correct, kind of.

    Any ideas?

  • You've switched to DX11, it gives you a warning that none of the shaders are compatible, you ignore it, then makes this thread...
DX11 doesn't support the Depth Buffer that is used by every single P3D shader, hence why it never got ported to DX11.
What you're seeing is basically how it looks without the shaders, and since these are the thing that actually gives the illusion of 3D, it completely falls apart.
For example, if you switch to Standard graphics mode (no hardware acceleration), which doesn't have shader support at all, it looks exactly the same, but performs really really bad and may crash.

If you want to use P3D, you have to switch the graphics mode to Direct3D 9 (DX9), it's the only way to work with it unless Clickteam adds the depth buffer to DX11 AND the shader gets ported for it.

  • If anyone else finds this thread and needs to know how to actually fix it, you just need to copy the files from the effects directory of the ZIP to your Clickteam Fusion installation's own effects directory.

    Then it works!
