Build 294.5 - Beta version

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hello,

The build 294.5 is available in the Please login to see this link..

EDIT: this version is on Steam too. As usual if you want to install this beta version you need to suscribe to betas in the properties of Fusion 2.5 in the Steam client, using the code provided in the Please login to see this link. thread in the Steam forum.

Please login to see this link.

    General notes about build 294:

    - Please login to see this link. that highlights the new features of the build 294.

    - some changes affect the content of MFA files so make backup copies of your MFA files before loading them with this version.

    - MFA files are still compatible with previous builds (though if you load and re-save them with a previous version, you'll lose value order, included frame index, etc).

    - there is a known issue in the Transition Setup dialog box, parameter controls do not use the current skin, not sure if this one will be fixed.

If any question or issue specific to this build, please post it here, thanks!

In case of problem you can reinstall any other version (no need to uninstall first, just reinstall the patch of the build you want to reinstall).

PS: the CF 2.5 patch updates all the installed exporters, as well as the 2.5+ DLC, you do not need to reinstall them.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for the update! Many bugs fixed and popup transition has returned.

However, I'm not sure if this was in the last build or not, but qualifier texts seem to overlap each other for some reason:

  • Fantastic update. So many things fixed and improved, and even a couple of added features. :) I've found a few remaining issues:

After dragging horizontal divider in Animation Editor, zoom slider and hotspot controls (or anything else in that area, depending on which button is selected) disappear:

Create by Name should be case sensitive, to make it consistent with Create. Currently, Create by Name will ignore case, and simply create the oldest object. In the following example, the frame contains two objects, but it's actually impossible to Create by Name both, because Create by Name "fred" actually creates "Fred":

Please login to see this picture.

You can have multiple objects called Fred, fred, FRED, frED, FrEd, fReD, and Create by Name "fred" (or Create by Name "FRED" or any other variant) will only ever create the one that was created earliest in the Frame Editor. The others will remain impossible to Create by Name

The INI++ (v1.5) Rename Item action is broken. It ignores the "new" name and tries to rename the "old" name to the "old" name. When run, this causes a Crash To Desktop.

When multiple objects with different instance values are selected, the Instance Value field should go blank, the way the alterable value fields do. Notice in the following example how the properties window implies that both selected objects have an instance value of 0 (which they don't):

  • I'm getting semi-regular crashes with the steam version of 294.5 (mostly never had them with 294.4, had it occasionally but I think it was from this now resolved bug: "- Included Frame: crash when you modify an object of a parent frame in the frame editor and run the application unless you open the event editor on the parent frame.")

I've managed to replicate the issue on my machine with a new MFA, not sure at this stage if it's related specifically to 294.5 and some combination of include frame and global objects. I originally assumed it was something to do with user data on my machine but have since had someone else in the discord replicate the issue:
Please login to see this attachment.

    to reproduce:
    1. open MFA
    2. open the event editor in frame 1
    3. run application
    4. end application
    5. double click on event line 1 to view the list of actions for that line
    6. click on the 'event editor' button in the toolbar to return to the event editor - this is where it crashes for me.

  • I can confirm CTD too.

  • Has the shadowing of dialog windows changed in this version? The way the Expression Editor and other popup dialogs open seems different to me today - I don't know if it's caused by 294.5, or a Windows update, or it was always like this and I never noticed it. When opening a dialog, Fusion produces the shadow and border of the dialog at full size, while the dialog itself fades in from a smaller size. So for a moment, it kind of looks like there are two windows, with one overlapping the other. The screenshot below was taken midway through the window opening. The Expression Editor is fading in, and notice how there's a larger rectangle outside of that.

It's not really a big thing. I found it slightly disorienting at first, though I'm sure I'll quickly get used to it. But I just wondered if this behaviour was caused by the new update and/or if there's a setting somewhere that can reverse it.

  • Thanks for fixing the sticky menu crash, that was slowing me down quite a bit to avoid it.

The glitch with property tabs being rescaled to the wrong size still remains. You can still work around it by going to view->toolbars->skin editor->reload. But you have to do it most every time you load up MMF2 if you're messing with displays in the meantime. Just a minor inconvenience, low priority bug
I don't know whats causing it, I found it both reappeared and persisted whether I was in dual monitor or single screen setups so its probably not a frame scaling issue. It just shows up every time I start MMF2 on any setup

  • I found a few UI issues in this build:

Combo boxes are too big. There are some places where they will overlap with other UI elements. I don't think it was like this in the previous beta.
Please login to see this attachment.

The data elements window has issues with resizing. Making it bigger works normally, but making it smaller causes it to appear messed up.
Please login to see this attachment.

The application's icon still isn't displayed in its properties. This issue was present in the last beta as well, but it worked properly in 293.

    Can't reproduce this one.

It didn't work in 293 either, I've just checked. I took a look some time ago and iirc it depends on the system icon size so probably it works on some machines and not on others (may depend on Windows scaling). As the fix will take a bit of time and as you can see the icon in the workspace bar, I postponed it.

They have updated the UI library we use, maybe they added this. I'll try to see if there is an option to turn it off.

Yes it's due to this change (actually an old, hidden bug that is revealed by this change). Fixed in next update.

Weird, unable to reproduce it here.

  • Yves, thank you for the great update! The new tab system is very convenient, and it makes working with behaviors easier except that it is very easy to override the current tab by clicking elsewhere. Is there a possibility of adding a 'lock tab' option to any particular tab.
