Build 294.10 - Release version

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Great work guys, wonderful things (my #1 requested feature in particular) in this huge update.

  • I agree that the UI feels a bit slower and less responsive than 293. Especially the increased delay when opening dialogs, which is really noticeable when you edit an action that opens several successive expression editors. I ended up 'solving' this by turning off "Animate windows when minimising and maximising" in Windows settings. It removes all such animations from the OS unfortunately, but at least Fusion is much snappier.

Thanks for your acknowledgement of the issue. I already have that stuff turned off in windows though. I've played around with various windows settings but nothing really improves it.

    Maybe update your hardware?
I also encountered significant slowdown in previous 293 builds, when opening too many event groups. Fusion will take a very long time to response when jumping by search all, even in the same event page.
This delay disappeared after I updated my haswell E3 to 12Gen i5. Actually 294 is a bit slower than 293 but still in an acceptable range when running on modern hardwares.

That's a pretty expensive suggestion: the 294 UX is less optimised than the 293 UX was, so buy a new motherboard and new CPU and hope that it might make some difference. :(

  • Or maybe because we fixed the issue. :p

Glad to hear it. What about the icons? Are they compressed/encrypted/embedded in the exe with no way to change them?
Also it would be much appreciated if there was more customization options for the picture editor, maybe I'm not seeing it but for some reason it seems to be the only thing not addressed in the skin editor etc.
As someone who spends hours in this editor every day the new all white background is really a strain on the eye. Please either revert back to the old diamond shaped pattern or make it so it can be set to grey or something.

  • Weird. To reset the debugger window settings, run regedit and delete the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clickteam\Fusion Developer 2.5\Debugger

Let me know if you can reproduce the problem later.

Hey this is a sort of tangential question but... Does the Steam version also save its registry info in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clickteam\" ?

I'm writing a batch file to backup all my installed programs' preferences/settings, just in case of hard drive failure or something. And I don't want to miss anything that might be in the registry.

Do you mean the grey and white checkerboard in the picture editor? if so you can actually change the color from the editor it self via options (the one with the wrench icon)
That's have been there for a long time, maybe even since release, but i'm not 100% sure

No, that's obviously not what I meant...It's this:

  • Just noting: The new stable release hasn't been updated in the Product Owner's Lounge forum (as in under the "official versions" section), as the latest one there being 293.10 while 294.10 still only being under beta

Ah, well atleast it changes color if you use a dark mode based theme
Also (personal opinion): the checkerboard wouldn't look nice on dark mode and overall new look of the engine, but yeah maybe an option to change this background color would be nice

  • Are you talking about the font in the controls in the picture editor? Can you post a screenshot? And what's the value in "Add to font size" in your Workspace preferences?

its actually the edit boxes which display the HEX and RGB values, they are made so they only just fit size0, before hand size2 fit normally. if those 2 edit boxes where made bigger, then increasing the font size wouldnt matter. - there's nothing else around that area, so increasing the size i hope wouldn't pose a problem.

  • I apologize in advance for this being a request.

I'm enjoying the new version a LOT, thanks for all the effort put into it! There's one thing I'd like, though I have no idea if it would be easy or not. When you do a "User clicks within a zone" (mouse event), would it be possible to allow zooming of the Frame Editor that pops up? I often do large resolution projects, and I could work much faster if I could zoom out to see the whole frame (right now it puts it to 100%). Plus, as it is now, when scrolling around, duplicate click zones are drawn (see attached image). You can get rid of the duplicates by clicking on the Zone Setup window, but it's an unnecessary step. I know this isn't a high priority thing, but it sure would make things easier for me, especially when I'm using a laptop, as the smaller screen makes it more of a pain.

Will add this to the wish list for the next beta.
