Ah yeah when I saw it was release version I uses the wrong link and mistook the 293.10 release version for the 294.10 beta version
Hello, the following seems to be a bug in 294.10 ( maybe existed before ) : I have a five-frame "launching" animation for a sprite, triggered by space bar. It works fine, but if I press "space bar" very quickly" ( in very quick succession") the whole event stops playing ( no animation, no firing ). I added extra frames to make it 16, but same results.
I absolutely love the new UI, users who complain just didn’t get used to it yet
Glad you're happy but don't go dismissing other peoples divergent opinions especially when it's on topic regarding the key point of an update.
I'm sure you could get used to a lot of things but that really says nothing about the quality and it should be obvious that appearance is highly subjective.
I've been using clickteams products since '94 (actually even earlier if you count AMOS) and the UX has been largely the same ever since. Thats almost 30 (!) years. I've spent countless hours kliking and know this program inside and out.
Despite there being other (arguably) more powerful options these days my number one reason for using clickfusion is familiarity.
This is especially true for the picture/animation editor which I don't think anyone would claim is a perticulary "good" graphics editor, but I love using it since it's so easy and second nature to me at this point. It's part of both my dayjob and something I enjoy in my freetime so all this makes me very passionate and caring about the look of clickfusion.
Now, Yves has stated that the issues I have (my main one not even concerning looks but performance which everyone should care about) could be fixeable so I'm trying to being patient to wait and see but I refuse to have my opinions dismissed and belittled like this.

Don't forget that the UI is now highly skinnable, so you can edit it until it's very similar to how it was before. I wasn't a big fan of the UI changes either, especially since the main benefits - dark mode and DPI scaling - are things that don't concern me. But I could skin it very close to how it was before without much difficulty. Other than a few of my own tweaks, my 294 now looks pretty much the same as 293 did. I agree it'd be nice to be able to edit the Properties Toolbar icons though; their sizes are weirdly irregular and the least prominent one ("Values") - is the one I happen to use the most.

Yeah I know and I have. Currently I'm using the Default (old) skin with some tweaks of my own. However there is a huge omission regarding the picture editor which for some reason does not seem to be included in the skin customization options at all. Since the first point of the update states "Fully customizable UI" it's very strange that one big part of the program (the picture editor) is just excluded from this. The icons I can learn to live with but the picture editor needs the same color customization as in the rest of the program applied. Being forced to use dark mode is not an adequate solutions and the performance issues and graphical glitches I feel is just simply unacceptable.
Sorry Yves, I tried my best to reproduce the carsh bug I was having in both the standalone version and in Steam but didn't managed to reproduce it. I'm not certain but is there a chance that something got broken in my standalone installation of Clickteam Fusion due to the many beta update patches I installed during the testing period? I just uninstalled everything, removed the left-over folder and re-installed the standalone version from scratch to be on the safe side. If I encounter with anything new I will let you know.

I respect others opinions ofc, I mean about the users who absolutely hate the new UI, talking about posts on steam, gamejolt and such, ofc you can’t make everyone happy but the engine needed to get modernized in terms of the general editor, there were a lot of complains about how old the UI looked, they were hurting the engine’s first impressions and might have even impacted it’s sales
I’m not dismissing others opinions, I was referring to complains saying that “the UI is terrible and an absolute eye sore” or whatever, just because they still didn’t get used to it yet, not even real arguments which they mention the parts they don’t like in detail, just flat out trashing on the engine (because apparently people really love doing such for this engine) and even these users I still respect there opinions (Btw some of them are the same people who complained about how old the UI was, then they switched to complain about how to revert it after it was finally updated X) )
Anyways don’t want to get too of topic here, this thread is not very suitable for this discussion, but again I do respect all users opinions, especially if they are legitimate arguments, not just trashing on the UI like some posts elsewhere
I'm not sure if this was reported before and if others find this matter irritating / frustrating too, but when the Select Direction dialogue box opens it highlights the "Select all directions" icon by default, while the default direction that is visually selected is direction 0 (right). I usually use the keyboard to work more efficiently, and when I hit "Enter" when the dialogue opens up in order to accept the default direction 0 it actually selects all directions instead, which is frustrating; we either need to remember to use the mouse to click on the "OK" button, or to hit 3 times TAB to toggle between the icons until reaching the "OK" button and then hitting "Enter" to accept the dialogue box.

Just a friendly suggestion - it would be nice if the default highlight option will be the OK button.
Thanks

It is included. Look:

Though it shares a lot of its colors with other global elements, so you probably can't skin it to be entirely different to the rest of the interface, if that's what you wanted. To change the colors shown above, I changed these colors:

ive also noted the animation just stops on occasions - it was on stopped animation looped. pressing keys rapidly also hung that - but not always. (it wasnt stickykeys either)

I'm not sure what you're talking about here... I only use Light mode and I don't see anything being 'forced' to Dark mode...
You could always customize Picture editor checkerboard by Clicking the Wrench icon if that's what you mean...
Also, in Fusion's preferences, Workspace tab, you can disable auto Dark mode if that's what's causing you trouble.
But I'm curious, could you show a screenshot of is going on with your interface?

I can test on 293 as well...

Yes I know you can change it globally (just like with dark skin) but I would still call that being omitted since there's like a gazillion settings for the storyboard/frame/event editor but none for the picture editor. Which is again especially strange since that one even had a unique background (the diamond pattern). Atleast this should be customizable.

Look I've already posted pictures and explained what I meant in this very thread, but ok here it is again:

This background now shares it's color with "Main UI - Control background color"
There is currently no way to have this background be darker while having a "light" mode skin.
Here's a video of one example (but there's more) of the UI flickering/graphical glitching for anyone interested...
Please login to see this attachment.
I see, well, that's a good suggestion, having that at least separated.
About the UI flickering, the new UI library has to be manually refreshed, so Clickteam had to carefully find the points where they need to refresh to not show a broken interface.
The first beta was a lot worse, they fixed most of the refreshing issues, but like the previous UI library, it may take a while for it to be smoothened out. MMF2 had the same issues back then.
@ naitorstudios Hello , here's an example; thanks for taking a look.
therickman it does appear to be a bug, yes, not really related to the Launch action tho. It's freezing on the last frame of the launching animation.
The launched object seems to be created at the end of the animation, so that's why it stops launching.
Although you don't need to manually select that animation or even start it, it's done automatically once you use the Launch action.
Workarounds being: restore animation frame before Launch and it will work as intended.
This kind of issue happens when an animation is forced multiple times in a very short period.
If the animation frame plays for too long without proceeding it automatically forces it to stay on that frame.
(Like when you use force animation frame with "Change... > Animation frame", requiring a "Restore... > Animation frame")

not fixed yet...
Is it displayed correctly on your PC?
I can reproduce it yes, apparently it's due to a translation mistake, this will be fixed (not a new bug I think?).
