I've found some issues regarding event complexity. Maybe they're known issues, but I'm uploading an MFA in case it helps.
In one of my very long events (100+ actions, but less than the 128 max) I found that the last few icons don't show tooltips when you hover over them in the Event List Editor. That itself doesn't matter much, but you also can't drag those icons to create/alter other events, as you normally would be able to - the icons sort of become 'dead'.
The issue is related not just to the amount of actions, but their complexity. If you create 128 very simple actions (eg. Set Alterable Value A to 1) then all 128 icons will be 'alive'. But the more complexity you add in the actions, the more 'dead' icons there will be. In my real-world case, the bottom 7 or so icons were dead. I've attached an example (a modified version of my real-world event) where the bottom 50 or so icons are dead.
The event in this example MFA appears to have hit some sort of limit. Because not only are 50 icons dead, but it's now become impossible to add more actions (Fusion appears to let you add an action, but the action never appears in the event). You also can't add much complexity to the expressions (if you edit one of the actions and add a bunch of stuff, Fusion will appear to accept the changes, but they don't show up in the event).
I guess these limitations probably aren't going to change, but it would be good if Fusion gave some clearer warning to the user when it happens. Currently, stuff starts not working properly (as described above) but Fusion sort of keeps acting like everything's normal, which feels a bit disconcerting. It also makes me worry that if I've hit one of these limits, is the event in danger of becoming corrupted? Even if I reduce the event complexity after hitting the limit, is there any danger that Fusion didn't save things correctly while the event was beyond the limit?
Great update. Thank you, ClickTeam!
I have not read through all the pages so I don't know if anyone else have these issues but this version is unusable for me. The reason being that the transition from going from the event editor to the frame editor is like 3-4 seconds. On the previous version it takes less than 1 second. It makes working a complete slog. Also when scrolling around on the frame editor everything is like a smear when scrolling that is not the case in previous version (not a huge deal though).
This only happens in my real project that has a lot of objects, if I create new project with just one active everything is snappy as usual so it seems there is this slowdowns when having many objects. Any idea why it happens though in this version and not the previous one and or setting to change if possible?
I had to revert back to 293.10 again and now it takes less than a second to transition in again and no smearing when scrolling. (The smearing I can live with, but the extreme slowdown of 300-400% is not possible when transitioning between event editor and frame editor)
I can reproduce this with a 1 Gb app and a frame that contains 35000 objects (1.5 second with build 293 and 4 seconds with build 294). I'll try to fix it (we'll probably release build 294.11 this week with minor fixes).
the de-highlighting of selected text in the expression editor when attempting to copy is still a problem/ not standard practice. (it should stay highlighted as normal)

Thank you Yves that sounds very promising and I am holding my thumbs it is possible to fix since I would love to be able to use many of the features in these new updates!
The cursor in picture editor is acting strange, sometimes the mouse cursor seems offset. It's doesnt happen on every pixel but it was introduced in the latest update (maybe because of the new zoom?)

BUG: shaders appear to be broken, if you put a shader effect on an active, then all other actives without shader effects on them mess up
SHINBAXTER on iOS you mean, right?
I got a similar issue on Mac, where if you scale an Active with a shader applied, all backdrops from the same layer would move and resize to it, getting back to their original positions/sizes once you stop the event.
Somehow shaders are affecting other objects on both iOS/Mac...

sorry i forgot to specify, thanks for mentioning
yh, this is an iOS bug

Yeah, this has annoyed me for ever. It's easy to forget what (if anything) was highlighted and will therefore be erased with a new expression, and so I often end up having to click back into the box to check, which wastes time. Ideally, the highlight would stay but become greyed out whenever the field loses focus (similar to what happens with highlighted items in the Workspace Toolbar, for example)

Talking about expressions, currently fusion won’t save line breaks, and always merge everything to one line, which makes it unreadable, especially when the expression is a bit complex and nested deeply. When modifying it, I have to paste the expression to another text editor then split it to several readable short ones. Workaround is separate it to several short ones then store to several values but you know, it’s not that easy to declare new values in fusion…
So could it be possible to save the typography in both event editor and expression editor, and introduce colored parentheses? This will significantly boost the readability of expressions.

And while on the topic of line-breaks, there's a glitch that can make line-breaks quite frustrating. It's not strictly a problem with line-breaks, but using line breaks makes it more likely to happen. Basically, any time the vertical size of the expression editor field is exceeded, the content positioning starts to glitch out.
In a situation like below, where there is so much content that a scrollbar is present, then clicking anywhere will usually cause the content to jump unexpectedly. So, when I click here:

...the content will jump up several lines to here:

The content will keep jumping whenever I click anywhere, unless one of the following are true:
-I clicked on the top-most line
-I clicked on the current caret position
-The scrollbar is all the way to the bottom

This is just a bug in the event list editor that was storing icon indexes in bytes instead of normal integers, i.e. the number of icons that could be detected when the mouse is over them for a given event was 255. Your event seems safe. Should be fixed in 294.11.
I've not been able to launch CTF+ from Steam as of today. I get the following error:
Please login to see this attachment.
I've tried to verify the files on Steam and I tried turning off the antivirus, but this didn't help. I'm sad to say this, but this version has only introduced trouble for me so far, and now I can't even use the software anymore it seems. I would like to go back to the last working version on Steam, but that's not possible?
I got it working now by restarting Steam. Weird, that's never happened before. But, I still don't think it would be a bad idea to maybe keep the last stable working version available to use.

Maybe a connection problem to Steam servers?
If this still happens, maybe it's due to 3rd party files in your Fusion folder? The files that are installed for the standard version of Fusion 2.5+ are:
cfex.dll
installscript_std.vdf
liblacewing.dll
mmf2u.exe
steam_api.dll
UserImages.bmp
If other files are installed there, try to remove them to see if that solves the problem.
Otherwise I've zero idea about what could cause this issue as this message is displayed when the Steam API returns "init failed" to Fusion at the very beginning (and I'm sure this would happen with the build 293 too as there was no change in the Steam initialization process).

OK, thank you for the update.

I've been able to optimize it, it's now almost as fast as in the build 293. Still a bit slower though, but to make it faster we would need to find another solution for creating icons displayed in the object list in the frame editor, this can't be done in a minor update. If you can, I suggest that you use folders in the frame editor object list, to reduce the number of objects displayed in this list.
The cursor in picture editor is acting strange, sometimes the mouse cursor seems offset. It's doesnt happen on every pixel but it was introduced in the latest update (maybe because of the new zoom?)

I can't reproduce this, do you have an example? (perhaps it depends on the size of the object?)
