Build 294.10 - Release version

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Clickteam.
  • VBEinc Clickteam has replaced the entire UI Library because the old one was abandoned many years ago by Microsoft.
It was the only way to allow customization and dark mode.
They also change this to allow DPI Aware, replacing all toolbar icons with SVG (scalable vector graphics), meaning it won't get blurry or pixelated when people use it on high/low res monitors with different Windows scaling.

Edit: Try this skin... Extract it to C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Roaming\Clickteam\Fusion Developer 2.5\Skins
It's not perfect since the thing is not meant to be using these legacy icons, but it's much more similar to 293 and older...

After extracting it, enable Skin editor toolbar on View menu, then select the new skin from it.

  • I have completely uninstalled Fusion 2.5+ Dev. but now I can't even install the Fusion 2.5 Dev. update.

The same error message always appears:

Clickteam Fusion Developer 2.5 has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

Cannot connect to the online registration page. Please check your connection and/or retry
    later.

You will have to run this utility again to completely install Clickteam Fusion Developer 2.5.

I installed Fusion on a second computer some time ago, but the SSD broke. Maybe I have reached the maximum of devices?

Are you sure that Fusion is still compatible with XP 32 bit?

    Build 292.29 - Change log
    -------------------------
    - Windows XP: editor and applications were no longer compatible with Windows XP because of a change in the build 292.27.

  • michaeldunge that forgets to mention that the compatibility was FIXED in that build because it was broken in a couple of betas before it, not the current state.
Before Fixes and Bugs had something to differentiate on the changelog...
Even for making extensions, devs have to use Visual Studio 2019 to maintain Windows XP compatibility for those.

But I guess this says it all:

  • I'm sorry, but it just doesn't work.

Automatic online registration doesn't work in XP, but the program itself does. All you have to do is click "Manual Registration" in the Fusion installer and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the software on Windows XP manually.

Also that photo included by Naitor is actually of my Windows XP computer! I never expected to see it pop up here XD

  • Can we have an addition to groups popup menu?

A Clone option, acts just like coping and pasting the group.

reason I'm asking is tried of copying and pasting groups as they clear my clipboard history when I have data in it.

  • Another feature that would be nice to add is a toggle in the preferences to let the active scale or rotate without re-editing the original set data it was imported with. as of right now scaling or rotating a active in the editor also applies the image data.

Yet in code telling a active to scale up, down or rotate it doesn't edit the image only the object its rendered too.
ex: importing a 720p image and scaling it up in editor will change it data and make the image bigger but if I was able to scale it in events it will say the same 720 but scale up the object.

  • Another little quality of life change that would be nice is to make the start loop cursor be inside the quotation marks so you can directly type in the loop name without having to click first :)

p.s. maybe we can get rid of the quotation marks all together (at least in F3) as i don't see why they need to even be there lol

  • I've found an important issue when using "include another frame".
In the frame 1, there is an object A, and in frame properties i use "include frame 2".
In the frame 2 (where the events are), this object A isn't present, instead i use "NEVER - create object A" as recommended by Yves.

Then, sometimes the object A will simply disappear from the list of objects in the event editor, then i can't edit any event using this object or add new event for that object. And if you save at this moment, fusion will crashes and object A will be replaced by a "bad object reference".

So the solution to use "never - create object" isn't good enough and creates new issue. The best method would be to add the object to the frame and have a property "don't include in runtime" or something like that so we don't have 2 objects when using "include another frame" (the one from the frame 1 and the one from the frame 2).

I hope my explanation was clear enough.

true, im kind of used to pressing the arrows, right/left or left/right as soon as this pop up comes up.

Maybe it was a specific answer for a specific situation because I never recommend creating objects in the event editor, I usually recommend creating objects in the frame editor and unselecting their "Create at start" option. I'll try to reproduce this issue anyway (maybe you removed the Create action by mistake? or there was a conflict - bug - with another Create action that caused the other action to reference the bad object).

  • There is what appears to be a purely visual bug on build 294.10 in the Event List Editor.

Under specific circumstances when you highlight a large number of events, you can cause the first highlighted event that you right click on to visually swap places with the highlighted event that is farthest down on the screen. It will go back to the way that it should be if you deselect the events or left click on just about anything. I can't say for certain whether or not this bug does anything to the actual event data, but as far as I can tell it seems to just be some kind of unnerving visual glitch.

I find it difficult to describe how to reproduce this bug, so I've attached a video showing how to reproduce it as well as the .mfa file I made to test it.

Although the video shows this bug happening with a child event, it can also be reproduced with regular events. The zoom level of the editor was set to 100 but I was also able to reproduce it when the zoom level was at 50. I would recommend keeping zoom level at 100. Please note that in order to get this bug to happen, it is important to scroll the screen to the same positions as I show in the video. If you don't scroll down or up far enough when selecting the first and last events, the bug will probably not happen. Also, the recording did not capture the menu that pops up when I right clicked. The point in the video where the top condition "Current frame of Active" changes from "<=0" to "=8" is where I right clicked on the event.
