Timer condition not work if it using variables by expression

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I have constructed an event that increases the value of the counter at regular intervals, using the "Every" or "Restrict actions" condition of the timer object. The counter value is inserted using a expression to specify that time. However, if we change the value of the counter (increasing the value and then decreasing it again) the event will not work.
Could you please explain the reason for this?

  • I don't know much about restrict actions, as I've never used it, but your example does work. Click the right button, then the left, then wait 30-60 seconds, and you'll see.

For whatever reason, whenever you change the value, the counters won't use the new value until they've completed their current queue using the old value. So when you change it to 300000 then 3000, you don't immediately see the 3000 timing because the counters are still waiting to complete the 300000 timing, which takes a long time. Once each counter completes this slow 300000 timing, it will start moving quickly, using the new 3000 timing.

  • I don't know. I guess it's just programmed differently. But I don't know if it's a bug or a feature.

Another odd thing I noticed is that the middle counter always seems to take a lot longer to 'wake up' than the other two counters (it's easier to see if you set the buttons to something like 20 and 100000), which doesn't seem to make sense.
