App closed during a steam crash, lost hours of work

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • As the title states, when steam is having issues or crashes or restarts for updates it closes MMF2.5 before giving me the option to save my work. I just lost hours of work is there any way to stop the app from closing when im activly working on it XD

Hmm, I've got 15,000+ hours logged in Fusion under Steam, and I've never experienced anything like this. Fusion has crashed on its own a few times over the years of course, but never as a result of Steam crashing or closing it. I don't actually ever remember Steam crashing. And while it sometimes produces a popup to request an update, I've never seen it actually force an update without my permission. I would consider a clean re-install of Steam if I were you, in case something's messed up with Steam.

I don't know if any of the below would make a difference, but the only things that might be different about my setup that I can think of are:

-I have Steam and Windows installed on C: but Fusion installed on a separate drive (G: )
-I have mmf2u.exe set to always run in Administrator mode (steam.exe runs in normal mode)
-I never use Sleep or Hibernate, and Shut Down my PC every night. So Steam has a chance to update itself on startup every morning when I turn the PC on.
-I have "Allow downloads during gameplay" checked in the Steam settings

Also, I don't mean to be annoying, but you should save more often... ;)

  • well, for me I will press Ctrl + S subconsciously, keep multiple backups, using version control, after losing some important files about one decade ago (like copy to USB then delete original one, and found that USB corrupted)
The only thing is, sometimes it's annoying to pop up 'save website' several times when editing a long post.
