Build 295.10 - Release Version

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • 1. List Object:
I'm not sure if i did it correctly but i don't get any issue. I've set the width in properties to 200 instead of 128 (default value), then double clicked the object in frame editor and set it to a bigger width by dragging an edge. The final size width is the one i've set by dragging.

If I resize from 200 (typed in) to 250 (via handle) and click on the width property again, 250 is replaced by 200 again.

  • Gustav,

once you have dragged the boundary of the list with the mouse to the desired size (in your example the width), in order to "fix" the width in the property panel, you have to click with the mouse somewere on the frame, or on the object itself. This action de-selects the "selection boundary" of the list and "fixes" its new width in the properties. In fact, now when you click on the width in the property, it retains the new width.

In my opinion, it's not really an issue ;)
    Hope it helps,
    Sergio

I think this issue worsens the usability and should be fixed.

Property values are updated after changing e.g. the size or position of an object. But the input field displays the wrong value if I want to edit.

    If that's no bug I don't know. ;)

  • Feature request: an option to automatically create and group objects into folders in Event Editor based on folders in Frame Editor.

For example, if I create a folder in the Frame Editor named "Sprites" and drag my relevant active objects to it, the option will automatically create a folder in the Event Editor and pull the same active objects into that folder.

  • Also a feature request. This is something I have written before but it would be incredible useful to be able to send objects or folders in the event editor to the left. In some projects I have 100:s of objects and it becomes a slog of scrolling to the right. When I am working on something I almost always move all the objects I am currently working on to the far left to have them ready and easy to access as I create events for them, but this in itself is a tedious and slow process and it also mess up any ordering I have with objects in specific folders etc. To have a designated place to the left or be able to make a special folder that you then can right click on any object and select something like "Send to working folder" and then have them been sent there and then also being able to send them back to their original folder when you are done would speed things up immensely.

  • Another thing that would be nice would be to be able to drag objects to replace create events objects. You can do this for every single event I know off except for creation events where you have to do it from scratch.

  • I just want a keyboard shortcut for Workspace pane to be assignable again. I used to Ctrl-W, Ctrl-D to flip between full-window editor, now only one of them works. :(

I can't set it in Keyboard tab either, it doesn't have toolbars in the listing.

There seems to be a strong reluctance from Clickteam to add anything to the re-assignable hotkey system, for some reason. :( Most of the time they've added a new feature in recent years, they've hard-coded the hotkey and neglected to make it re-assignable. For example: Ctrl-T to switch between editor type, Ctrl-Shift-F for Find All or - most recently - Ctrl-Q to Paste as a child event.

I personally overwrite all of these with Autohotkey so I can have hotkeys that make sense for my own muscle memory, but it's annoying that we're forced to do that.

  • Feature Request:
When double clicking an object icon on a condition in the list editor you can replace the object with another of object of the same class.

Please login to see this attachment.

I was wondering if this function would be easily added to actions in the list editor?

I don't know if this goes in the direction of your Feature Request, but anyway: If you want replace an object with another, and thus retaining the events, you can do it in the Event Editor view:

Bare in mind however, that this specific action is not undoable.

That one is for replacing all actions/conditions an object has, not quick-swapping a single action's object. ;)

  • Thanks Semar, like Phi mentioned that is a different feature.
The closest thing is drag and dropping a nearby icon onto the one I'd like to swap
but if the object I need is not visible on the screen my current workflow is..

    - Create a destroy action for the object I need
    - Drag icon I need onto icon I want to replace
    - Delete created destroy action

  • Yeah, I probably 'destroy' a hundred objects a day this way. If we could just double-click and select a new object like you suggested, that would indeed be a great improvement.

  • I don't know of this was already requested, but anyway:

it would be useful to have the possibility to rename a qualifier or - even better - create a new one. That way we could give a meaningful description and icon depending on the purpose.

It would be also useful to have the qualifier sorted alphabetically.

Thanks for your attention and have a nice day,
    Sergio
