Is it possible to know what the default Frequency is for a sound effect?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I have toyed a little bit with adjust the sample or channel frequency of sound effects to get some variety of a sound effect etc. However the value you have to give is between 0 and 100.000 and it can be quite some trial and error to find the "default" frequency of a sound to have it sound like it sounds normally and then change the range from there.

My question is really if there is a way to know what value between 0 and 100.000 is the normal frequency for a sound? Is it possible to somehow check this from within Fusion and if not is it possible to check with some other program?

  • According to the help documentation, it's just 0:

Ah yes that seems to be correct! I think my confusion then is what value above 0 is the "normal" sound. Because it seems as you go over 0 the sound appears extremely "dark and slow". And then as you increase the value more and more it starts to get quicker and lighter. Just from experimenting a tiny bit with a sound it seems around value 45.000 it starts to sound normal again but not sure exactly what value that is the "middle point". But I am think this also can vary between different sound effects? (attached an example)

  • 44,100 Hz is a fairly common sample rate for audio files. Usually if you're getting your sound effects from a commercially available sound effect pack they should all have the same sample rate, (typically 44,100hz, 48,000hz or 96,000Hz).

You can retrieve the sample rate of any sound file in Fusion using SampleFreq("sound_name") from the built in sound object. You can also see the sample rate of a sound file in a program such as Audacity
