Make android app run in the background

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I have a android app that needs to run while not in the forground. I am not sure how to set up the app so it continues to run when on a different app on the Android device.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

Note there is no way to detect Force Stop, as it's basically a process terminate. As far as being closed when running in background, that requires your app to register a service, which I don't think any extension or runtime does - so it might trigger End Application, but your best bet is to save everything worth saving when you switch away, and be prepared to restore it back.
