qualifiers in behaviors and global events

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

  • For the project I'm working on, I'd really like to be able to put stuff like collision and load zones in behaviors and global events so that I can just slap a qualifier and some alterable values on a wall and call it a day, but behaviors and global events don't allow using qualifiers, and trying to sneak them in via copy-paste gives an error message. Is there some other way to put a general case interaction in a behavior and/or global event, or am I going to have to repeat the code for collisions and load zones and whatnot in every frame?

  • You can do global events with qualifiers with the 2.5+DLC, otherwise I guess your best bet might be

    - making one large level rather than splitting them up, or

    - keeping everything in the one frame and saving/loading the level layout at the beginning of that frame

  • Getting 2.5+ is the way to go, if you're going to be spending any serious time making your game. It provides loads of improvements to Fusion aside from the qualifiers in globals/behaviours. It's called a DLC, but really it's comprised of features that should be in the core product, and surely would have been had they been available in 2013. But they made it 7 years after the release of 2.5, and it took them at least a year to develop, so it would have been insane of them to just include it as a free update. Hence, it's presented as an optional extra. But really it's a compulsory purchase for anyone who spends lots of time with Fusion and wants to make their time with it more efficient and less frustrating.

    i second this. Just the quality of life features added in 2.5+ are worth every penny

  • Make sure your Object has its qualifier set in its properties.

    In Global Events, you will see an icon on the top row that looks like a (paper with a curved arrow on it) to the very right end; click this to [import] the Object into the Global events to work on. * its qualifier will come with it.
