[SOLVED] Can't build Android application

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Dear clickers,

    I'm new to the Android extension. I've installed a fresh new android studio (named LadyBug, a name, a promise ;) ), I have already java 8 from a previous installation, and tryed to build my first .apk..

    Sadly I get this error: ( excerpt - Attached you find the whole error logfile.):

    java.lang.AssertionError: annotationType(): unrecognized Attribute name MODULE (class com.sun.tools.javac.util.UnsharedNameTable$NameImpl)

    * What went wrong:
    Execution failed for task ':app:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'.

    Could you help me to find the problem here ? Attached is the simple application I'm trying to build.

    Thanks in advance for your attention,
    Sergio

  • UPDATE.
    I've changed the java jdk path to point to the one installed from Android Studio ( the directory is called jbr ).

    Now the error file is way smaller, but I get another kind of error:
    FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

    * What went wrong:
    A problem occurred configuring root project 'And2209.tmp'.
    > Could not open proj generic class cache for build file 'C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Temp\And2209.tmp\build.gradle' (C:\Users\xyz\.gradle\caches\7.5\scripts\8hx9dombvvbdplkbpwpzyuhc8).
    > BUG! exception in phase 'semantic analysis' in source unit '_BuildScript_' Unsupported class file major version 65

    Any help to nail the problem down ?

  • UPDATE

    I've re-installed Android Studio and SDK in a new c:\android directory, set the sdk and jdk paths in Fusion accordingly, but I still get an error:
    FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

    * What went wrong:
    A problem occurred configuring root project 'AndC0CF.tmp'.
    > Could not open proj generic class cache for build file 'C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Temp\AndC0CF.tmp\build.gradle' (C:\Users\xyz\.gradle\caches\7.5\scripts\8hx9dombvvbdplkbpwpzyuhc8).
    > BUG! exception in phase 'semantic analysis' in source unit '_BuildScript_' Unsupported class file major version 65

    Question(s): how to check if gradle has been installed ? And if not, should it be installed, and if yes which version and where to get it ?

    I wonder why it keeps trying to open that cache in the directory c:\users\... etc., and not in the c:\android\ directory, where I've installed the android studio.

    Anyway. I still need help :)

  • I have Android Studio installed, I think Graddle is already installed with it, no? And for Java you just have to put the address of the jbr folder if I'm not mistaken

    :/

    I read that to check if gradle is installed, the command "gradle -v" shold run in a dos-command, and the current gradle version will be shown.
    If I do this on my laptop I have this:

    If you do the same, what do you get from the command "gradle -v" ?

    But again:
    FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

    * What went wrong:
    A problem occurred configuring root project 'And801D.tmp'.
    > Could not open proj generic class cache for build file 'C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Temp\And801D.tmp\build.gradle' (C:\Users\xyz\.gradle\caches\7.5\scripts\8hx9dombvvbdplkbpwpzyuhc8).
    > BUG! exception in phase 'semantic analysis' in source unit '_BuildScript_' Unsupported class file major version 65

  • have you managed to get it working?

    I installed the latest version of Android Studio (Ladybug) and it gave me problems, compilation errors, so I reinstalled an older version (Koala) and it worked fine again.

    Maybe that's what's happening to you, if you can't get it to work you can install an older version and try.

    My version is Android Studio Koala 2024.1.1

  • UPDATE

    Ok, now it works with Koala !

    I have however another SDK Build: 36-rc1 and not the 34 as suggested in this topic: ( Please login to see this link. )

    But it compiles with the following settings:

    Many thanks TonyThunder :)
    By the way, is there a way to deploy directly on the device instead of manually install the .apk ? Is there a "bridge" between the Fusion Android exporter and a device ? For example via WLAN or via usb cable ?

    Regards,
    Sergio

  • By the way for the people trying to get it work with LadyBug, and API 34, Target 14, first try this patch: Please login to see this link.
    If doesn't work (Don't know as I didn't try due to fixing the problems manually on my side and already having an early version of the 296 runtime) then check this big discussion on discord on how to do it manually: Please login to see this link.
