Frame and scrolling and Firelfy

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • it would depend on why you are scrolling the frame
    a: = dont scroll

b= move the FF window to follow the frame

  • I test on - On Call Tile Map Engine - without scrolling it will not work right. It's based on scrolling! Im creating a first shooter game with this On Call Tile Map Engine.

How in code: will FF window fits the main frame?

  • [B] -> look at the properties for the engine, to uncheck follow the frame. (probably FFcamera also) . the window should now not move when frame is scrolling underneath.

the scrolling required is for 2d only, you DONT really need it for translations etc to FF

ie; you are not making your game/example correctly for what you want. sounds like you work around is option [B]

  • i'm kinda confused, i downloaded the tile engine - dropped my engine and cam on and got the result i was expecting.....

what result exactly are you expecting ? im thinking you think the engine is a tile object and SHOULD move with the world ?? if so im not sure you understand what FF is..

  • I've made a first shooter game in firefly and I want to use this On_Call_Tile_Map_Engine which destroys every box as I move forward. I think it makes sense! There's a movie on my dropbox where I explain the problem. It's Center Active at 0.0, it needs to be on to calculate everything. But when I walk around the whole FF moves from frame x and y.

FF is missing: lock: Follow the Frame Option!

  • ok so.... your video goes against my testing.... so somewhere in you code you must be manually moving the FF engine

from your video you dont want FF to follow the frame as that would move the frame more than it is moving, you actually want the frame to NOT move

in your code click on the engine icon at the top and isolate any action involving the engine and see where its getting moved, better yet send me your mfa in DM and i'll investigate it for you

  • I've tried everything. I don't know what makes it move the FF window. It would be cool if this 2d tile engine could work with FF so you could make big levels in FF! It annoys me a bit why it doesn't work properly.

But as I said before, Follow of Frame option is missing. Maybe this can solved the problem.
