How to recreate chowder style textures for an active object?

  • I figure this would involve a masking trick, but I'm not too experienced with using masks and layer effects yet. How could I have a chowder style texture (or pizza tower for a recent example in a video game) effect for an active object? How can I make sure the effect doesn't overlap outside of the sprite, and can I do multiple patterns per sprite (max of 2)?
