[Beta4] Sphax VectorialShape

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • There is too many modifications since last beta version and I've not wrote the list of all the new features.

    But here is a non exhaustive one:
    - general: New icon
    - general: The object is now compatible with MMF2 movements (but some features are not currently fully compatible)
    - general: The object can now check if it's in collision with another object
    - general: Support for SVG format (import/export)
    - action: "Refine the shape" to automatically add points where needed
    - action: "Set position of a new point" to add a point at the end of the shape (it was possible before with "set position of a point" but it's now faster with this new function)
    - action: "Set number of points to display" to make the shape partially drawn on the frame
    - action: "Collision mask to BMP" to export the collision mask picture
    - expression: "Get area" in 3 versions, both are more or less precise (all are approximation).
    - expression: "Get most far pointID from coordinates" to get the point ID which the most far from coordinates :D
    - expression: "Get nearest pointID from angle" to get the point ID which is the nearest one from coordinates and angle
    - and more...

    Bugs corrected:
    - Some glitches appear when the rotation of the linear gradient is at 360° (don't know if I can do anything against that)
    - The object does not follow correctly the frame if the layer has a coefficient different from 1

    Known bugs:
    - The object is not compatible with HWA mode but all non graphical features work well.
    - The object can be 1 frame late when scrolling

    This is really coming along and the examples are fantastic.

    I am kind of thinking that some commenting on the examples would help users understand some of the more complex usages.

  • This is quite an impressive update. I'm looking forward to testing it out. I'm guessing that this is close to the version you used in your Physics Draw project. This is a truly powerful extension.

  • It will possible in future, allow you to create multiple shapes with the same object with ID for each shapes?
    It would be practical to create custom hotspots in frame :)

    > Not in this object, maybe with the future new one (VectorialWorld object or something similar) but you can currently create several instances of the same object with different points (like PhysicDraw do)

    It would be practical to create custom hotspots in frame
    > Invisible points with visible points... Maybe I'll add it but currently you can do it with two objects. :)

  • VectorialWorld should be an object exactly like VectorialShape is but which support unlimited shapes retrievable with name...
    But this object is not planned currently and will not before VectorialShape is done. Keep in mind that you can already done a lot lot lot of things with VectorialShape object. ;)
