"Clickteam Marketplace", professional support

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi,

I have an idea about making a forum (in its general sense) for selling professional services pertaining to Click products. I don't mean to say that I'm making this project, because I'm not, but it would be great to evaluate the possibility of an officially supported "CT Marketplace".

    ---

The site could be a forum for making inquiries, looking at CV's, looking for programmers, graphics artists, coders, GUI designers, extension developers, ranking them by several criteria etc.

The site also needs to show signs of activity - I don't mean a discussion forum - but maybe the frontpage updating with the most interesting inquiries, newest = first.

Spotlights with some success story would also be a point of interest.

One would apply to inquiries, as consultants, with an offer and terms.

An offer, for example, could look like this (for a GFX job, for example):

    Quote

Estimated time of completion: 2 weeks. Payment: All characters / animations for $5,000 (example!), revisions/new features: $80/h + VAT (if applicable)

    Way of payment: Paypal

I have seen some sites having implemented this, although with a slightly differing domain:

Please login to see this link. for example.

The realisation of the concept on their behalf IMO is not 100% perfect, it could use some refining to be more attractive to sellers/buyers.

    ---

Also some thinking needs to be done on integrity and secureness... How can we ensure that people are serious sellers/buyers? Reputation? Number of posts in CT forum?...

Maybe it all comes down to being corporate, leaving full name, phone, location, emplyoment, calling people up, having video conferences, signing contracts, NDA's....

    ---

My thinking alone will not suffice this idea, even by a long shot.

    We need some serious brainstorming!

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

    What's F2D?

I didn't mean for this to be in the CT forums, but the idea to have it officially supported would possibly draw more customers.

Anyhow, a CT marketplace, officially supported or not, would be nice for people to make some extra money and, eventually, maybe even go professional with their hobby.

    Any ideas?

  • F2D = Fusion 2 Developers Please login to see this link.

I agree...a marketplace like this would be very cool.

  • If fusion2developers would host such a site, I advise them to contract a web designer in order for the look of the site to be on par with other "Get A Freelancer" websites.

Just look at this exquicit site - WOW - Please login to see this link.

It would be great to make it look as professional and serieux as that one, for example. At least I think it's important, because it would be the first website of this kind!

    ---

Another thing; most of the freelancers interested in this sort of business might or might not be very used to looking for freelance jobs, so it needs to be located somewhere near to an internet waterhole - like clickteam.com - to keep interest.

Of course, a close relationship with CT (a nice link) would also do.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

Another thing which would be very nice, is to offer the freelancers to put up small mini-sites as portfolios, with a presentation page using some template or with ones own background picture, styling etc.

Now I said brainstorming, so even far-out ideas like this one is OK. :)

    Any ideas?

  • Why don't we just start with a Forum for it over at F2D and if it shows some interest in users then we can go from their...!

I am thinking of two forums...

    Help Wanted..
    Professionals for hire..

    what do you think?

  • If it is of interest, F2D now has a feature where registered users in the user Menu can click on "Submit on Job Board" and create a post that fit in one of two categories...

    1. Resumes (Advertise your services for hire)
    2. Help Wanted (Request services you need)

One a entry is made and approved it will be available to view on the Job Board, link located under the MMF Developers Resources Menu

Please login to see this link.

  • After giving this some thought, I think this is a good idea.

Over the years, I have seen some changes. Not only do we have a growing number of enthusiasts asking great questions about game creation, we are also seeing a larger volume of more technical and professional forum posts.

This seems like a great time to open more doors that support, encourage, and help serious and talented developers reach their market/audience.

Of course that will take some effort and persistence on the part of those who initiate these pathways. Also, the community itself has to consider focusing on, supporting, and promoting the movement.

I am glad to see Bornemix bringing this topic up and Clickteam would of course welcome any valid attempts at exploring and experimenting with new venues for our userbase. This is very encouraging and uplifting and a good sign that things are moving forward.

  • Hi Kisguri,

    I think it's a good start - I provide some feedback here:

    * The layout needs to be more of a "List" nature for the purpose, where each item can be expandable, making it possible for easy navigation, for customers/freelancers alike.

For example, some sparse information will do before I decide to show further information regarding a certain freelancer or dev house, looking at screenshots etc.

    * I don't feel that a "comments" section is eligible to be present in entries.

    * It would be nice with a possibility to upload ones resume in PDF.

    I'll register shortly as well.

    Any ideas?
