Unlock protected files

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi there, I was digging out some of my old creations to update them in MMF2 Dev but all I could find where the applications that were built and protected. Is there anyway to unlock these protected .gam files???

    Any help is much appreciated.

  • but I was sure I remember a couple of years ago on this forum that there was a tool that would allow you to unlock the file again.

Is this not arround anymore or would there be a memory address that I could physcially change in the file to make it useable again?? I'm really desperate!

  • Files are protected for a reason: to prevent reverse engineering, you should never ever dispose of your old .gam's .cca's .mfa's unless your upgrading them, like transforming a .gam into a .mfa.

  • Hmmm... I'm having the same problem. I have an old game I wrote. It is a cca file. When I try to open it in MMF, it says it is protected.
If I install Click n' Create on a Windows 7 or Vista computer, would I be able to unlock it? I don't have the original password.
    Thanks.

It is not a case of needing a password, it means that rather than opening the original editable .cca file you are trying to open a standalone (exported) version of the CCA where the 'Protect Game' feature was enabled.
