Fade to background is nothing but a prefab OF taking a snapshot of the frame before and fading it into the next frame! It's not even like it's animating both frames at the same time. So you're right, I must not be getting it.
MMF2 HWA Beta 4
Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

The resampled, resized fullscreen works for me OK but I think I've noticed on screenshots of X-Bomber running on other computers where it hasn't worked. Not sure why that is.
This update is much more robust, well done there. Thanks Yves.
The only slight thing I've noticed is how gradient counters go kinda weird showing bands of different colours when they're set to Additive and yet they didn't seem to do that in the previous (3d) version.

I don't get how this has relevance to HWA at all
I'm pointing out a bug that is marked as fixed but isn't fixed in HWA build. And this works perfectly in a non-HWA build. If this doesn't have relevance, I can't imagine anything that can.Quote from BrandonCFade to background is nothing but a prefab OF taking a snapshot of the frame before and fading it into the next frame! This should be VERY easy to understand already. See the example I uploaded for you instead:Please login to see this link.
Run the application, press ENTER to go to mountains, press SPACE, backspace and ENTER again to return to mountains. Notice the dark button is positioned there because there is an event to set things at start of frame.. I CAN'T have a screenshot of every possibility of modified frame to manually make the fading. This is what you're not getting.

Ah, got it to work somehow. O_o Cool feature! Great work Yves and Francois!

Found a bug!
When Resize Display to Fill Screen is selected, the Debugger disappears, but briefly flickers when new objects are created.
-
This happens with all other windows that appear up. It's in conjunction with the "windows objects not supported in fullscreen" issue he told us all about before, at, and after the HWA build that introduced fullscreen support.
The same thing happens to notifications like Windows, AIM, and GTalk. It also happens to almost all 3D (HWA; DirectX) games running in fullscreen mode.
-
Any news on when the overlay object will include 'subtract' ink effect?
-
BUGS with subapp:
1] If the subapp is displayed as a sprite, mouse events inside that subapp dont work, keybord events work.
E.g. you cannot register clicking on an object.2] Customizable size doesnt work. It works in the Frame editor, but during runtime it gets back to original size.

hi,
HWA have only 10 Alterable Strings on 1 object !
On my editor is hotspot from object on center in HWA 3Beta-Version, i can´t grab the object on upper and left from Hotspot.
is this bug fixed ?
Thx Johnny

"HWA have only 10 Alterable Strings on 1 object !"
So what? MMF2 always did.
-
Just having 10 alterable strings per object is not a bug Johnny, as Looki stated. Maybe in future updates, or the next version, there will be more. I have not read anything one way or another from Click Team.

awesome to see progress on HWA beta!

For the antialiasing when resizing, can you change this during runtime? Like for instance, have a user check antialiasing in an options screen or something? Or would that not be possible?
-
When you add in the Add pixel shader to an object, and click on the gray area around the frame, the whole gray area turns white.
Defiantly a glitch.
-
BrandonC: Yes, the same here. Sometimes it happens when you select the object after shader was added.
-
Ah, yes, I see it, I'll fix it. Thanks!

- New Active Direct Show object : this object allows you to play a video as an active object, i.e. not in a window.
My dream come true Thanks!

New Active Direct Show object!
That is just full of MMF2 goodness.
That kind of creative capability will have an impact. Maybe we will be able to capture video files from the frame more easily in the future, (unlike the screen shot/file method) and there will be more potential for some video manipulation/creation here.
I suggest that users test many, various video files that Direct Show can play in order to assure this new object is working properly. Report any glitches. If a file won't play, be sure to check your codecs first.
-
I'm going to monkeying around with it a bunch, as I use videos in my interactive books. I'll report what I find with it.
Also- This might be wishful thinking, but it would be great if the Flash release has some sort of video object as well...
