uninstall previous version

    Hi all,

    I know there is the PatchMaker product, which should support patching smaller parts of an installed productversion, perhaps for bugfixing.
    But when a majorrelase change happen, it might be necessary to completely uninstall the previous version.
    Does IC support automatic uninstallation of previous productversions ?

    Can you explain more how that works? I have an install that was created with Wise installer, and I'd like to force an uninstallation if installed before proceeding. In my new build, I created the installer with the exact same name, but it did not run the old uninstaller.

    Am I able to do what I want with this option?

    Answered by e-mail, but here is the reply if someone needs some info about this :

    This option gets the filename of the uninstaller from the following key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_CURRENT_USER :

    Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\YourProgramName

    (YourProgramName is the "product title" in the Wizard Texts tab of ICP)

    And then it runs it with the /X /S command line option which runs uninstallers created with ICP in silent mode.
