uninstall previous version

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi all,

I know there is the PatchMaker product, which should support patching smaller parts of an installed productversion, perhaps for bugfixing.
But when a majorrelase change happen, it might be necessary to completely uninstall the previous version.
Does IC support automatic uninstallation of previous productversions ?

    Thanks

  • Can you explain more how that works? I have an install that was created with Wise installer, and I'd like to force an uninstallation if installed before proceeding. In my new build, I created the installer with the exact same name, but it did not run the old uninstaller.

Am I able to do what I want with this option?

    Thanks,
    Craig

  • Answered by e-mail, but here is the reply if someone needs some info about this :

This option gets the filename of the uninstaller from the following key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_CURRENT_USER :

    Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\YourProgramName

(YourProgramName is the "product title" in the Wizard Texts tab of ICP)

And then it runs it with the /X /S command line option which runs uninstallers created with ICP in silent mode.
