Irrlicht v0.006 testing

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi,
Here is a well overdue lot of extensions that i hope some of you enjoy playing around with. Don't hope that any saved mfa file that used previous builds of these extensions will work though.

  • just a quick question, how do I attach a material to an animated water node? doesn't seem to ask for an index after the get material from cache box like it does for the normal mesh

  • Here's some feedback from a noob user!

I managed to get a mesh loaded and understand how you can create your own movements using MMF etc.

A tutorial might be needed to explain how to link the materials to meshes however as it took me awhile and a few questions to understand how it all worked.

Also, I was trying to create an outdoor scene and was looking if there was a global light option to illuminate the scene, but couldn't find anything. So I started adding single point lights to the scene, but this seemed like quite a chore if I was trying to light an entire scene >_>

Maybe an example file explaining each light type and how they work and some examples of what they could be used for.

That's all I can think of for now, coming from a noob user! If I think of anything else i'll post it up.

Keep up the great work though! This set of extensions will be just what MMF needs to explode :P

  • Hi Rhys,
you can turn 'Lighting' off on a material and it will then not require lights nearby to render something other than black.
I don't have my laptop here in front of me atm, but i think you can do a global lighting option, can't remember.
In any case, lights are a tricky matter and don't seem to be implemented very well within irrlicht itself.
When i implement shader support i will create an example to do really amazing lights and shadows. That's the plan anyway.
In the end i will create an extensive help file, but it is all based on irrlicht anyway, so it's not gonna be suitable for a proper noob noob user.
