Just wondering..... pricing difference

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Not a huge difference really. Considering you can sell Flash games far easier than you can exe's, the higher price isn't really going to break the bank.

I wasn't planning on selling any games at all with it, I've stopped doing that years ago. I only use MMF for personal stuff these days. I've made my decisions, since there are a number of applications I'd like to buy, I'm not going to get the swf exporter. The other applications do use a more fair conversion rate, reflecting the current exchange rate, rather then some set figure. I can only spent my money once and don't like the feeling I'm being overcharged for whatever reason.

If the exchange rate would reflect what it really is at the moment (and has been for a long time now), the outcome may have been differently. For me it's just a principle.

If I do buy MMF2 Dev, I'm even going to pay €50 more.....

  • For info Clickteam is a European company, Clickteam USA is the distributor of Clickteam products in the USA. The normal price of the runtime is 69€, not $69.

We adjust the prices in the countries where we have publishers or resellers that distribute the product there. Danjo, we'll adjust the price for Australian users when we'll have a distributor in Australia.

If you want to pay in USD, then move to the USA, life is probably cheaper there.

    $69 = £45 = €51
    $69 = £49 = €59

Game Master, where did you get your information about being able to sell Flash games easier than executable files? [laugh]

Most Flash games i come across are freebies. With money garnered through online advertisements.

As of this date I've yet to purchase any Flash designed game. [laugh]

I think you might need to figure out how Flash developer's make money before you take the leap. So yo won't be disappointed.

Who said anything about selling the game itself? Sites like Kongerate generate money through advertising. Very good quality Flash games can make it onto sites like Miniclip who pay big bucks for games.

  • It is weird (and hello Danny, not spoken in ages... we should catch up...) that with Australia being such a large region that there isn't either a distributor or some option for choice of currency. There do seem to be an awful lot of very talented users out that way. NZ included.

To me the price is just grand, but i can see a degree of unfairness by region when you see how much relatively people in some areas are forced to pay.

A few bucks is nothing in some places and double plus change in others.
