Actually, Box2d is already an extension for MMF2. Check out this link Please login to see this link.. Unfortunately it hasn't been ported to flash. Which is a huge shame because if we had some kind of physics engine to be able to employ in our flash games i think the possibilites would be endless.
No, this is not easy to write at all. As I stated before, no one is going to port it for free unless he badly needs the extension for Flash himself.
I for one am all for donating to a fund that will get this done. I have a few games I've already done with Box2D via MMF2 and I would LOVE to get them into the SWF arena.
So, to those who are adept at MMF2 Extension development, please let me know how much you need, and I'll spearhead the donations campaign to get your funds.
Please feel free to message me privately.
Well, I could give it a try if no one else wants to. It would be a lot of work, and I don't have any experience with the Box2D C++ and Flash API, but I have been quite sucessful with porting objects to Flash in the past based on their C++ code.
And how much?
I have see the port in flash... i can convert, my biggest problem is the c++ part :-/ ...
I'm sure Clickteam will chip in. I might also.
Yea cool.. you mean, when i convert this to mmf flash runtime, clickteam chip in ? .. my problem is the c++ part only :-/
ah okay sorry.. cool, looki is very good extension developer.. i'm happy
Anyone who would make it working can count on financial support from Clickteam - Jeff wasn't looking once nor twice for dev for physics extensions.
Ok, I need an idea of how much you're hoping to earn on this task, which is quite the task indeed.
Ah, we'd better discuss that via PM I think.
I PM'd you
We need Werbad for this, Werbad is my extensions developer favorites

Looki has decided to give it a shot, I'd do it myself but unfortunately the Box2D version used in the extension is heavily customized and since I've never worked with Flash, I'm not sure how much work would be needed to make the Flash version of the engine compatible with it.
That's true - I actually forgot to mention it here, sorry.
Thanks again, Werbad.
It seems like a lot of work for sure - but thanks to tools by Mathias and Andos the development is sped up a bit.
Good luck Looki with that one.
Looki, I don't mean to sound impatient, but out of curiousity- any idea when we might expect to see something come of this? I mean to say, should we expect more of a wait of weeks or months? Or no idea?
Like I said, no rush, just curiousity I couldn't keep to myself.
