Windows 7 - Newly Installed program won't launch

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi. a user downloaded an install program to an application i just made. He is able to install the application (after changing the compatibility mode of the program to WinXP SP2) just fine.....but then he writes:

I have Windows 7...and it's 32bit last time I checked. I set the program to "Run as administrator", and it said "Windows cannot find [Wit Maid.exe location]. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and try again"

Is there some way he can be able to run it?

This application was built on a WinXP SP2 machine

  • I don't think this would be a Windows 7 issue, I'm running Win 7 64 bit (and I'm sure many others here as well) and have zero problems with MMF2 apps. It wouldn't matter if it's 32 bit or 64 bit. It is strange it runs in XP mode. I have no answer for that one. Unless you're doing or using something that for some reason only works in XP, but I can't begin to imagine what that might be.

I could be wrong about all of this, but I've never heard of this problem with MMF2 and Windows 7.

  • I tested this application on my desktop PC (wunning Windows 7 Ultimate) and it works just fine for me. I think he ias a PC or Win7 issue....but he seems to be blaming the app....as he is certain there is nothing wrong with his PC

Yeah I have to agree. I have no idea what the issue would be on his computer, but obviously if it works on yours it's definitely just him. MMF2 is up to date enough that there should be no compatibility issues. Maybe if you made it in the orginal Klik & Play there might be a problem lol, though it might work fine with that too. I'm running some old stuff on my comp, and don't have any problems. Even on 64 bit. With 32 bit there should be zero issues period.

Have him try to disable User Account Control (UAC) temporarily and see if it works afterwards.

I don't think that would fix anything though. I have UAC enabled and never had any problems. Run as Admin usually fixes UAC problems anyway.
