Does anyone know a website that supplies good fixed width image based fonts that can be used in TextBlitter?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Googling "sprite font" or "fixed width font" should get you started. And quite a few font websites have fixed width fonts, you just need to make sure they are not restricted in their use.
-
I actually stumbled across a handy little program that creates detailed bitmap fonts for you. Only problem is if you're using TextBlitter, it doesn't produce the results as fixed width so you'll have to spend a lot of time converting the exported font to TextBlitter.

Use the extension Character Image instead

Isn't Character Image only a developer extension though? I only have MMF2 Standard.
-
Yes, Character Image is Developer only.

I think I'll be spending extra money to get MMF3 Developer when it comes out. Someone enlighten me though, what are the main benefits of MMF2 Developer besides more advanced extensions?

I recently upgraded to F2.5 Dev., and I don't see Character Image. Has it been renamed?
-
I have it in my Windows download folder. I can send it to you, or a clicker put a link ?
-
You can grab it from the Extension Manager in 2.5
-
I looked there. I didnt see it. Weird.

Anyhow, for those who only own the Text Blitter object and are interested in using custom fonts, you could in this way...

Install the desiderate Font and select it by clicking the "Font Face" button, and that's all, a new font will be generated for you.
- Just for those who didn't know about this feature -
-
But for making true pixel fonts, you need to temporarily disable ClearType.
