"Application failed codesign verification"

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I finished all my testing and building and all that good stuff and finally am ready to upload my app to the iTunes app store, but when I try to upload it through the Application Loader, I get the error: Application failed codesign verification. I downloaded the Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certificate because I heard that could fix the problem, but I had no such luck. I am completely ignorant of anything about Macs, and am using my brother's, so please don't start using random terms I may not be able to understand :P

  • You need to compile it with the certificate that matches your mobile provision.

    For example:
Please login to see this link.

Whatever bundle identifier you entered in MMF under application properties must match with the bundle identifier in your Xcode build.

You need to choose that in the Code Signing Identity tab. The default is iPhone Developer, but if you click on it, a drop down appears that will show the certificate for your game.

  • What do you mean by "compile it with a certificate that matches your mobile provision"? I barely even understand what a certificate is...

As for my Bundle Identifier, everything matches up. In the Code Signing Identity, the default is iPhone Developer, but there is no option for my game's certificate, which I may not even have.

  • Managed to solve it, I was just to eager to upload it so I missed this. You have to get a distribution certificate.

Yes, it gets confusing. You need a certificate to create a mobile provisioning file for either:
    1. ad hoc distribution (usually limited to 100 devices) for testing.
    2. app store (this is the one where you upload your app to itunes)

re:"the default is iPhone Developer, but there is no option for my game's certificate, which I may not even have."
If it does not show up then you need to install the mobile provisioning file.

Ortman has a good link you may want to take a look at. It took several hours to figure it out when I first started.

Thanks :D I uploaded it with no problems, but then when it was uploaded I got an error "Invalid Binary"...

Were you able to get the app to run on a device?

  • This gave me the worst headache trying to originally figure out. Hours of research only to find out I needed that distribution certificate. Which I originally thought I had them all when I first downloaded it. Only managed to snag the developers cert.
