Update #1 - beta #4

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi everyone,

    Beta version #4 :

    Fixes and new features

    - Crash on devices under iOS5 when evaluating a double precision constant
    - Counter object: crashes in certain cases
    - Hiscore and Input object dialog bug on iOS5
    - Accelerometer joystick problem with auto landscape
    - Portrait mode could suddently begin acting like auto-landscape by mistake
    - Floating point text formatting bug
    - iAD orientation bug when using the auto-landscape orientation setting
    - Rare crash some time after destroying a sub-application
    - Array object : saving a text array created a corrupted file, causing a crash when reloading the array later in the application.
    - iOS Store change: you must now request product information before requesting a payment.
    - All runtimes: a pause in a path movement inhibated the animations until the next chunk of movement

    Important
    - iOS object: iOS5 removed the ability to get the unique device identifier so this action is also gone from the iOS object. People who use it already will just have an empty string returned from now on.
    - As mentioned briefly in the changelog above you must now wait for a valid product information response before you can request payment for that product. This is due to a change in iOS5 that requires this now. It should be fully compatible with iOS4.

If this version doesn't work for any reason, you can reinstall the previous version (note: if you do that, it will install only the iPhone files, not MMF2 itself as the sub-build number of the new version is higher - if you want to force it to install mmf2 as well, keep SHIFT+CTRL pressed in the installer).

    Thanks for testing!

    Yves.

  • Yves I just tested and everything works perfectly iOS5 also limiting the rotation of the landscape we had in iPad is history. Since Apple can not refuse our native apps for iPad.

The only detail that obeserve so far, is when it authenticates Game Center, if the game is in Landscape, sometimes placed Portrait notification. Also gone Camera.h error when compiling in Xcode.

Thanks Yves, Francois and entire CT for this release!!!

  • Thanks for the update!

In regards to "Crash on devices under iOS5 when evaluating a double precision constant", what is the largest number that can be stored in a MMF counter on iOS vs stored on PC? Is there a difference I should be aware of? I have a game with really big scores and I was wondering if it might cause problems.

  • Thanks for the release, you guys are obviously working really hard to sort out all the bugs.

So far I haven't found any issues, my build errors are gone. Only bug so far is the game center login pop-up is in portrait when the app is in landscape as koji kabuto said.

  • Yes, but it is better to stop using a deprecated function. We do not want people to use it iOS5 application and see the function removed in iOS6.
There is no difference between Windows and iOS for the counter limitations.

  • iOS5 on itouch 4th Gen all good :)

iOS4.2 on itouch 2nd Gen - still doesn't work but figured it out. Will post solution in another thread so it can be found in the future but please can you take a look at this as MMF is not compiling for armv6 since the this and the last beta on the latest Xcode.

  • any idea why the camera object crashes in my iPhone 4 iOS5? i've created a small app with a single button that when you click it the game pauses-crashes. Notice that in MMF2 runs ok but when transferred in xcode and build it for the iPhone4 (ios3 and up) and then transferred it it crashes :( here's a screenshot Please login to see this link.

  • Have you tried using beta #4?
This should already be fixed. If you have an example file that shows the opposite I would be very happy to try out to fix the bug.

  • My first IOS game is in testing, but it is using Beta #4... since its all working fine, i'm soooooooo tempted to release, but my sense of right and wrong is causing conflicts in my brain, as releasing something coded via beta-ware is a no-no. *Heavy Sigh*
